I remember there being a graveyard for all the characters that lost their lives during this noveling madness, and as I haven't seen it yet this year, and I remember it being in this thread, I thought I'd give it a start.
To the Lear family - I'm sorry I had to kill you all within the prologue, but the rest of the story wasn't possible without you dying. Rest in peace, yo.

Someday we'll look back on all this and plow into a parked car.

I am sorry for Merel, Max, Arjan, Jasper, the dog Dodo, Pinalala, Alfonso, Olala and 6 others I have not named yet. I am sorry that I had to kill you, it was just funnier that way. I am also sorry for the people I am going to kill, so left over characters, beware.

To the Curtis family (David, Julia, Luke and Michael)...since I wrote out of order, I killed you before you really lived. Sorry. I'll get around to telling your story soon.
And to the Deacon family (Owen, Harmony and Griff)...you are missed. Except you, Owen.

Whoot, someone else did start it! We'll just let mine fall to the bottom, then, eh? :)
RIP Noah's mom, Azrel Sorenta (renamed Asrelah upon her arrival in Isaddah) - I just can't write a main character with a mom who's alive at the beginning of the story, can I? Don't worry, you'll pop up as a sentient ghost several times.
RIP Noah's dad, Micah whateveryourlastnameendsupbeing - you were a pretty awesome king, if I do say so myself, but there's always someone who wants to poison you. Especially in the political climate you ruled in. Ouch. Still, you'll get to see your wife again, and you'll turn up and provide information for Noah at crucial points. Oh, and your daughter Hannah will barely make it through your coronation, she'll be missing you so much. So basically, you were a decent (if rather flamboyantly flattering) father, father-in-law (though Noah's being a cynic about it, Josiah really will miss you), and king. Bye now. See you later.

RIP Jeyu
You died for a noble cause. Well, your father thought it was noble, anyway.
RIP Isaewien
You wouldn't have been much help along the way, anyway, y'old bugger.
RIP Philippe
Even though it was your second death and you welcomed it warmly, you were too amazing to die.
Good thing you come back to be the antagonist and to make me smile. =]
RIP Myriia
Because the totally amazing Philippe raped and killed you.
I'm sorry, but he couldn't have left any evidence for his wife to see, now could he?
Besides, he couldn't very well kill one of his legitimate children to later kill their soul and take over their body to continue his personal vendetta against the government.
And you were asking for it. Literally.
RIP Queen Soqii
Serves you right for trying to arrest my antagonist and give him the death penalty.
Too bad Philippe wasn't the one who killed you.
Bitch.
RIP Antaei-the-druggie
Hey, I had to have some kind of don't-do-drugs message.
Sorry it had to be you.
RIP Mrs. Cerqaesii and Cerqaesii children
Stefan needed an emo past. Sorry.
RIP Antaei-the-priestess
Bad things sometimes happen to good people.
Get over it.
RIP High Lord Maerii XX
Try to run, you'll be killed. Try to fight, you'll be killed. Give up the throne, you'll be killed.
You took the easy way out, you pansy. Suicide, pssh.

Does it count if my character refused to leave the story? I killed her in chapter 2. In chapter 4, she came back, fired my narrator (I was fond of him!) and she took over!

RIP:
Jez' mama -- you were a scarred soul and I'm sorry I killed you. But you had to die in order for your daughter to truly heal. If you're lucky, I'll tell your story the prequel next NaNo.
Jessie's mom -- only truly special women exit the world as their son enters it. You are cherished by all who knew you and a great mystery to the one who did not.

RIP Wesley Robertson: I'm sorry you had to go in the prologue. Maybe you'll last longer when I reshuffle the chapters (but I doubt it).
RIP Chris Skeans: You really shouldn't have broken into that building. But remember, you died for science!
RIP Donald Christian and Rodney Sandoval: Fear not - the truth will be told (eventually).

RIP Niko, Prince of Elves
I know dying in the prologue doesn't seem like much fun, but I promise you'll come back. I could never kill the Prince of Elves and then just leave you there. Fajra really misses you, you know. But I think she's also starting to fall for Adam, but I know you don't mind. Don't you think they make such a cute couple? Who knew a vampire could be so lovey? Don't worry, your death will be avenged.
Probably.

So long, nameless homeless man. I know bursting into flames is not a nice way to die, but at least you've left your mark on the world.

To that village of at least 20 people, Maple the old woman, Isabella, Elizabeth, and Rose the three mothers, and Adrian my main character's fiance. I had to kill you all for plot and character developement. And, since I'm such a great writer, none of you are coming back from the dead until "Butterflies 2: Zombie Invasion" (no, this book will not happen). Also to Jasmine, who will die within the next 10-15 pages and Aba in case I decide to kill her too. Oh, and all those pirates I'm going to kill next chapter.
...
And that's it for now...

Good-bye, Alexander Crabill. I know extensive silver burns are a terrible way for a werewolf to go, and it may seem that you had little point in the story except to die because... well, you had no point in the story except to die. But you've provided a concrete example of how werewolves are horribly mistreated by my story world's legal system and their deaths often attributed to 'complications from lycanthropy' rather than the true cause of hate-induced violence.
If it makes you feel better at all, you've helped explain my title.

Sorry to Shii and Caithlin, Emperor and Empress of Dantria. Without your death, there really wouldn't be a story.
Sorry to Na'arn, their son too. Not only were you a meathead with a silly name, if you'd lived, Savria would be pretty useless.

RIP Teri's Mom
Sorry for killing you in the first chapter, but Teri really needed to money from your will to pay her rent. Also, because of the whole plot thing. You know. The one that you will somehow be involved in even though you didn't even make an appearance before you died.

Goodbye, Trafalgar, you great old dog. Your death at the hands of that hotheaded hockey player may be history by now, but it is not forgotten. The tale of your demise has been told three times already as new characters enter the story.
And the hockey stud's gonna get his pretty soon, too.

RIP Anthony. You could have chosen red for your shirt, seeing as how I was going to kill you off from the start, just to prove that this war is dangerous. Your friends grieved. Please don't blame your girlfriend for marrying someone else before a year has passed -- it was an emotional time for her.

R.I.P., Doris Meece.
You weren't that great a person in the beginning, but you knew when you died that you were making a difference. A difference that could mean life or death for your rival, but you chose life. Because of your sacrifice, though it did little at the time, you will be mourned bitterly before the story ends.
And don't worry, your killer will suffer for his various crimes, but above all, this one.
Rest in peices, Sam Jackson. I've actually not decided wether I'll kill you or not, but if I do, I won't be sorry. First two kidnappings, then murder...you murdered the woman who bailed you out of jail, you......!!!

RIP. Leonard Johansen. You were an okay father, but you're much more interesting dead!
RIP. Mona Feriera. Your death is not going to be a waste. Really. There's going to be some purpose, some time, besides your bothersome nephew knowing things. At least I hope so.
And when we discover your real murderers and why you died, you'll be truly able to RIP. Thanks to the God of literary justice. (Let's just hope s/he has a sense of humor and likes writers!) Amen.

To William Henry Baker then, whose only purpose in the novel was to die an agonizingly painful death. It just made my superhuman creatures more evil.
And to the six unnamed guards who got eaten by bugs that destroyed the entirety of the building they were guarding.
And to whoever else dies, because it may end up just perfect to kill off the MC's dad.

RIP, the corpse discovered in the first chapter.
I wanted to resurrect you at some point, but I'm not sure I've left myself a way to do that any time soon. Which is a shame, because it screws with half of the story, but maybe it's better this way. You'll actually suffer less in the long run if you stay dead. On the plus side, this is Nano, so the chances that you'll get included in a word-count-padding flashback are quite high. It's not much, but such is life. Or, indeed, death.
