Thanks everyone who helped me out with my last post. I hope it's okay that I post these questions, since I'm not in Egypt and have never been.
I've heard about the Omar Sharif soap opera, Nostalgia. I know he plays a character similar to himself -- an Egyptian who returns home after spending years abroad. That's all I've been able to find out from the internet. Could someone who's seen it tell me more about the plot?

He plays an engineer married to a rich Egypt-American who doesn't want to have anything to do with Egypt - She even gives up her dual citizenship. They have an only daughter who loves an Italian. Omar Sharif doesn't approve of anything what his Wife does, and tries to stay egyptian. He speaks with his daughter in arabic and makes her watch arabic films with him, and he has a small place he calls 'Egypt' in which he gathers with his egyptian friends. Then his wife dies, his daughter gets dumped by this Italian, and father and daughter return to Egypt together...
