Hi Everyone!
Becca and I were the only ones to show up for our planned write-in last night. At least I thought we'd planned it. :) Hope everyone is doing well on their word counts. Becca and I both added a good bit to ours at the write-in.
We made plans to meet again next Thursday at 6. Come join us if you want!
Stephanie

I am hoping to be joining in on the fun next week. I also hope to have some word count by then. Being sick is not helpful for the muse. Looking forward to meeting other writers in this area and hoping we can continue to be in touch throughout the year for support and encouragement. Gayle

Oh, I will definitely be there next week as well. I have a pretty bad case of the flu, my word count is okay, but I have dramatically slowed down, so my novel seems to me to be crawling along. See you guys at the next write in!!

What happens at a write in? I'll make plans to be there if all goes well.

We write! :) Becca and I talked about doing some timed "contests", where we tried to write more than the other, but ended up just writing. We both really got into our stories and barely chatted this week. Last week, though, I chatted way more and wrote way less. So it all depends on whether the write-in group is chatty, but generally, the idea is to write. And, since you are away from your home, all you CAN do is write. No to, books, chores or people distracting you from "the important thing". :)
Hope to see you there next Thursday!

Sorry I missed the write-in! I've been down with a serious case of the flu for the past week. I'm pretty sure you didn't want me and my bucket there.

terence, sorry to hear about your case of the flu. But I can say now that maybe it was a good thing I missed the first meet. LOL with COPD I don't be a wanting any of that flu bug. Get better and gl on your writing. I seem to have hit the wall here. No flu but sinus crap is keeping me muddled.

Anyone doing a write-in this week?

I finally made it to Moxie Java about 6:30pm. I am so far behind in my novel so I'm done with the distraction of surfing the 'net while knowing I should be writing. Today is half way and I'm only 9,000 words into this thing. I should be around 25,000 by right now. I have my hot chocolate and I'm in my corner of Moxie Java and ready to go. Since this is a write in I better start writing, my novel, not this post.

So, did anyone make it to the write-in last night? I'm sorry I couldn't attend. We had a deadline at work, so I didn't get off until late. In fact, work has been quite detrimental to my word count this week. Sigh.
Hope everyone else is trucking along just fine... :)

I made it there and saw no one else til Paul came in about 20 minutes later. We sat in our respective corners and wrote. I don't know about Paul, but I got a good bit done during that time. I'm still waaayyyyy behind, but hope to catch up and reach the finish line during the last week, when the writing-time-suckers will be vanquished. LOL
Anyone for another write-in this weekend? Maybe on Saturday?

I'm so sorry I haven't been around much. It seems my life fell apart this month, and as soon as I started to pick up the pieces, it fell apart again. I offer everyone my sincerest apologies.
Cheers,

Terence, I can relate, I've had a similiar month. Got little writing done and have spent a great deal of time staring at computer tryng to get fingers to work through the illness I've been fighting. But hey, there's always next year right.
Do you think we could schedule some non nano get togethers as we begin the new year? I would be interested how about some others? Gayle

just over 10,000 words to complete in less than 24 hours. Here goes!
I'm just glad that I found that article in the paper earlier this month that there were others writing. SO good to meet you here anyway. I'm sorry to hear of your being sick. I hate being sick. I'll have to go write about that in my novel. LOL
Thanks for just the fun of knowing that their are others giving this a try too. I'm a first timer. I hope to finish by the dead line and I'll hope to try again next year.
Get well.
Paul

I'm interested. I would love to be part of a writer's group. It has been a long time since I lived somewhere with an active writer's group.

Congrats, Paul. I hope you make it. Even if you don't though, what you have accomplished this month is a success.
I have to write 13,000 tomorrow . . . or rather later today LOL. i am going to do my best. It seems almost too much to do, but I actually wrote 10,000 words today, so I might be able to get it d one.
Go, Go, Go, Everyone! You can d o it!

I'm here cheering you all on. What worked for me was early in November setting a goal of 10 pages a day, and doing nothing else until those 10 pages were finished. Are they crap, yes, are there misspelled words, yep, but I kept those fingers moving, so can you. So go, go, go until you hit that 50K sometime today!

Hey everyone. Good work to those of you who are now purple--how exciting--and good luck to those of you still trucking along. You're so close!!
Unfortunately, I didn't get close. I had too many deadlines at work and just puttered out around mid-month because I was desperately behind. I'm quite disappointed in myself, but can't get bogged down in that. I now have 14,000 words more than I had before, right? I am definitely interested in meeting together--it will serve as inspiration to keep going and finish this thing. I'm still really liking my novel, but kept thinking I needed more time to research the particulars. Now I guess I've got till next November, when I'll be trying again with a better idea of what this all entails.
It was great to meet you all and I hope to see you again!
Sincerely,
Becca
