I 've had a few sad days when work completely took over my life, and a couple of others, when inspired to write stuff that could not be part of my NaNo subject matter. (Perhaps I should include them anyway? )

I have sidetracked and worked on those more serious pieces, and decided to plough on with this now. If there are any other ancient scribes out there, please communicate. I do feel as though I live in an otherwise uninhabited space at times.

What counts as "ancient"?

Hey there ...

Me too ... Cheryl, 51, NSW /Qld border. Yes, it does seem as if everyone else is 30 or less!! Ahh well ... experience still counts !

Good luck to both of you -- and me, of course. And yep, the other stuff counts ... just copy into your word count with a note saying "might be of some use" -- then it won't feel like cheating!

Regards, Cheryl

Well I guess you could just scrape in as ancient, seing as you have two lovely heads AND a chainsaw. Does that mean you are writing scifi?

Dear Cheryl, ok, lets say you qualify as a junior ancient. What genre are you working in? I am trying to write about life at work, and wish to God I had decided to write fictional something, anything really, as truth is feeling very difficult at the moment, but when I started I had absolutely no inspiration. I am so tired i am becoming dyslexic on the keyboard the last few days. BUT I am hoping to catch up tomorrow.

Actually, that .sig is not in my NaNo opus; I just sort of invented it on the spot when I was thinking about what to put in my .sig. I kinda like it, though -- maybe it will become the seed of a new story in December.

So I said to him, "Zork," I said, "this is just not working out like we planned."

He nodded both heads sadly and handed me back the gravity-mobilizer and the chainsaw. We were back to square one.

I think I am ancient (66) but I only feel about 30.
I never know what I am writing for NaNo, I sit at the keyboard on 1st Nov and just let my fingers take over. So far that had worked 4 times for me.
Keep going everyone.
By the way, if you wish to talk with other elders go to the 'geezers club' you will find it in Over 30s. they are a lovely bunch of people.

hi, Cheryl I am so glad to hear from you. my email is asilalenore7@yahoo.com.au please feel free to converse. I am not one who replies to daily emails, if you know what I mean, but having someone else ancient to chat with occasionally would be a real blessing for me. asilalenore7

Dear Laura, as you may see in the rules and Regs forum. I think I have broken a rule I had not read. I put my real email address in two emails, one to eachof the other persons who replied to my post seeking ancient writers to converse with. do you know if that is against NaNo law?

Anyway, are youwilling to chat maybe once or twice this next year, as I felt that it will be a long time till next november, and i did not wish to lose touch with all you writers, esp ancient ones. I noticed angarhad has found a group of 'geezers', which i presume may be 'old geezers' and i await his message with their contactdetails. hopefully Asilalenore7
