I just noticed on the regional scoreboard that we here in Bristol are 179th in the whole world. Out of over 300. How does this make us feel? I for one will be pedalling away today to get some more words out, who's with me?

scoreboard? where is this scoreboard?
Also, is that compared to regions that have many people in?

It's in the 'Fun Stuff' section (not that I was there procrastinating, obviously), and as far as I can see, it's a scoreboard of every region that has been registered. So obviously all the densely populated US states are at the top. But surely we can beat Oxfordshire? Newcastle?

We're 95th on Average Word Count, though, which is rather better.

Oxfordshire did win the word war last year I think - and they have about twice as many people as we do!

Are we actually on for a word war with Cambridge?

so our final place on the wordcount board was 167th overall but 52nd on average wordcount, which seems fairly respectable position to be in considering that we only have about 100 members.
And even the ones of us (like me) who didn't get to 50,000 have all contributed to our wordcount.
So yay for us!
