Those who did Nano last year may remember how I managed to do the whole thing in 11 days and how I managed to be the Thread started of pretty much all the "IMPORTANTWORDCOUNTNUMBERHERE" threads...

the last 3 days have so seen just over 25k words so this is more like it!

So come on folks! Chime in once you hit the Magical 40,000 knowing that you are almost there! its the final sprint and its all downhill here baby! you can pick up speed and dash to that finish line!!

THEY HAVE COOKIES!!!!

Aww ... I haven't hit 40K yet ... I'm so close I can taste it (almost) I've just been attacked by school work, and a cold.

Still not typed it all up but thanks to the write-in earlier I am now in the 40K club. *does the happy dance*

I should be a day away from the 40k mark but as it turns out I am really lagging behind *cries onto her keyboard*

Today I made it to the 40s (and worked out how to make my wordcount show on my profile for the first time). I'm three days ahead of schedule, but I don't think 50k words is going to do it. I might have to carry on through December.

On record, I'm not at 40k yet. But I only tend to do word counts at the end of completed chapters; the most recent one has 1200 words, and I have one a little way back which hasnt been added in to the major document but is about the same length, so.... woohoo! Come on, babeh! >:D

Finished this evening at 40,900. The end is certainly in sight. Time to start wrapping up the plot.

Only do word counts at the end of chapters, Rob? I do them every 15 minutes!

800 words away from 40k, I'll hit it later but my nano is at home and my net access is at a friend's...
43k is my ideal goal for tonight, that way I have 7days to write a minimum of 7k and I might even be able to wrap up the plot as well as the wordcount! This is the bit that makes it all worthwhile, when you start to think 'hey, I could finish in a day from here!'

Welllll..... I do each chapter in a seperate document, which means I can only get a word count when I bung the "finished" product into the main master copy.

But now I've installed Q10, I can do counts every fixed x minutes now... ;)

Hmmm, never heard of Q10 before. Looks interesting. I've adapted a Word template to handle a big novel so that I'm not using excessive coding and viewing it in Outline with mostly only the chapter headings visible. I write each new chapter in a separate Word file and paste it into the larger one when I'm done each day.

I'll check out Q10 though and see if I like it.

I hit 40K on Friday and I'm really impressed that I'm ahead of where I need to be.

For the first time since 1st November I can actually see me finishing this before the deadline :-)

I've just made it into the 40ks and am so glad the finishing post is in sight! This year's NaNo seems to have flown by for some reason, does anyone else feel that way?

I'm a bee's fluffy part away from 40k but I'm really doubting my ability to get to 50k in 5 days.

I have a mere 500 words to write to get me to the end, but I'm stuck at work without my manuscript. That's the first thing I'm going to do when I get in tonight.
