Oh yes. 20k to go. For some, you may be struggling uphill, for others, snowballing your way down the hill.

I just hit 30k a few minutes ago, and I'm on my way to catching up with the rest of you. And hopefully I'll be able to add two more stars to my name-tag for the next write-in. ;D

Keep on going, guys!

I realized I was only about 250 words out from the 30,000 mark, and decided to at least start a new scene. And then stayed up to finish it.

It is starting to get easier now... I did nearly 3,000 words in the last six or seven hours, have the major crisis in full swing, and even added another plot complication. Lots of ideas to follow up on when I next sit down to write.

Coming to the party late... I just passed 37.5k. I hope to reach 40k later today.

I seem to be "over the hump" now and coasting on the downhill stretch. Let's hope things stay that way!

I'm at whatever number it says beside my name. I really should be doing homework right now, but I'm going to write instead. Cheers!

Just passed 35,000 and now I have enough free time for several days of serious writing. Aiming for 40K by late Monday night, then a sprint to the finish.

I also crossed over the 35,000 mark right about the time Astreja did. I've had steady progress since Monday and I'm very happy with where I am at. Each day I aim for about 3000 words and slowly but surely I'm closing the gap on my deficit. I'm pushing it hard now and I'd like to reach the required word count by Thursday. If not, the bright side of this plan is that I will only have a wee bit left on Friday.

Like Betty and Heather said, each day I'm looking at the calendar half-expecting to have a eureka moment as the month of November magically acquires another day. I am daily calculating and recalculating how many words I've written, how many words I've left to write, divided by the number of days left. Facebook has a nice word count application and I gaze lovingly at the graph of completion.

And like Betty and Heather said it would be: my plot is blooming. The story is working itself out and is unfolding nicely. I even got to the point where I had to make an outline of events. I think the complexity of my characters' personalities is finally coming out.

And more kudos to Betty and Heather: Giving up our inner critic was a very healthy exercise. I just shoved that bitch to the side. (oops. Was that pg-13?)

I suspect the story will exceed the 50k. I want to finish the whole thing for the TGIO party.

I hope y'all don't think I'm being cocky. I'm just really happy and wanted to share some of the love.

"Don't give up, don't give up, don't give up..." (gee, I wonder who said that? see above...)

Feeling better at our house,
Kim
