is this now too cliche of a name to use??? or is it fine as long as your story doesn't start with "The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed". because i am making sort of a post-end-of-the-world-story and want my main character to be a "modern gunslinger?"... (this is not for this year but for a book i am writing outside of this competition...)

Don't worry. Stephen King did not invent the word. :p It was around for quite a fair while before he got his hands on it.
