Okay! The TGIO is going to be on THIS SATURDAY the 8th. It will start at Pancake Manor at around 7 (I'll be there from about 6:30) and then we'll move onto Strike Bowling Bar at about 8:30ish. I have booked both of these, and they are set in stone.

Having said that, if anyone wants to suggest an unofficial TGIO party on the Friday night, I'm more than happy for that to go ahead, though I won't be able to be there/organise it.

So if you're definitely coming on Saturday, could you leave a comment here and let me know? They want me to get back to them with exact numbers, as "20-50 people" was a bit vague.

Also, due to the late notice, I could only book one lane of bowling. That's 8 people, and they all have to be over 18, so basically it'll be a case of "First to leave your name, first to get a guaranteed bowling spot."

If you're coming with someone, you could probably share your bowling game with them. Alternate, or something like that - that's what my cousin Yav and I will be doing.

In any case, reply here
a) if you're coming, and
b) if you want to book a spot at bowling

Bowling will be about $10 each, and Pancake Manor's cost will depend on what you're ordering. See you all then!

I'm not convinced that people must be over 18 to get into Strike. If so, they've changed the rules because I've been there with a majority crowd of u-18s before. They don't check ID at the door, just at the bar section. Kind of like the Arena.

Annnnd I am the hating of bowling. So I'll just hang out with y'all and perhaps visit said bar section... *cough*

Apparently they said on the phone to Pete that there weren't under-18s allowed. He suggested it was probably a Saturday night thing. That makes sense. So, please ignore my above rantings.

If the u-18s wish to stay at Pancake Manor or go elsewhere, maybe I'll hang out with them instead? Bowling is teh lam0rz. :P

I would love to be there for the pancakes, but will bow out of the bowling.
Can't wait! Should we bring anything? Will there be readings of novels? What was decided about the fancy dress thing?

I'm in for Pancake Manor and I'll hang out with the bowling crowd too (I'll play, but also don't mind sitting and cheering everyone else on down the lane).

I'm still voting fancy dress... like, everone has to wear a hat of some kind, or the like.

I am probably coming to the Pancake Manor. I will not confirm or deny yet, closer to the date I shall. I won't be bowling, though, because I am a minor. Alas, my age has betrayed me.

Also, hi Peter!

Can I just say, for the record: Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!

:-)

There is now the possibility that I will have something else booked for the Saturday night which cannot be moved. I'll talk to my people and get them to talk to their people -- and I'll either confirm or deny as soon as I know for sure...

I'm up for everything! Call me a social butterfly..or some other metamorphic insect that's awesomer.
I'll bowl and eat pancakes. I might be a little late coming to the Manor as I'll be playing Cricket until about 6pm at Tingalpa.

Okay, scratch the "aaarrgghhh"! :-)

It's all sorted out! I'll be there!

Edit: I'm happy to skip the bowling to make a spot for somebody else (I can try my hand at pool again) but if numbers run low, I can pretend I know how to bowl...

I'll be there :-D I wouldn't miss it!

I'm happy to not bowl if other people want to (after all - they DO have pool tables ;-)) but if there is a spare spot to fill ... ;-)

I'm with Stormy - I'm still big on the idea of fancy dress!! Even if it isn't overly fancy ^_^
