I'm working on one of my other novels and I have a problem with figuring out how to knock my MC out. She's female, about 5 ft 5, slender, but she has to be subdued quickly.
I was thinking either by injecting a drug (a suggestion of a drug would be nice) or by ether or chloroform. She's in a bathroom, bending over a sink to wash her face when she's attacked from behind. I need her to pass out, and I just want to know what would be more realistic I guess.

I believe chloroform would be the most effective ^_^

the butt of a gun to the back of the head ought to do it.

Watch old A-Team reruns to find clever ways to KO someone. If something takes down BA Baracus, it'll take down pretty near anyone.

Hi All - First post ever!
"The assailant approached her silently from behind, carefully stepping on the bath mat as for his shoes not to make any sound on the tiles. He grabbed a thick wad of her hair and smashed her forehead hard into the porcelain basin in a swift but menacing motion. Her body was limp within seconds, with the weight of her whole body being supported by the assailants grip of hair."
What you think? Many ways to knock someone out. Just thought that if she's bent over a sink then smashing her head into the sink hard would be a good one. Assumes that assailant is a man and quite strong though. All depends though. Gun butt would do the trick but i always feel that thats too cliched and "happens in the films" etc. Hitting someone hard at the back of the base of neck will do the trick - but in reality it does have to be very hard and not guaranteed.
Chloroform always a good choice for films - but apparently its just for that - films. Again - all depends on what you aiming for in terms of your book or writing. Realism - then go for a big Baseball bat to the back of the head as hard as you can. Film style - Butt of a gun or Chloroform.
Also - what you think of that short little exerpt??

A blood choke is quick and effective. That's how I knocked out one of my characters of same height and build. Takes a few seconds to work. Heck, I've even had it done on me in martial arts training :-P

M-99 is a large mammal tranquilizer that could knock out an adult human almost instantly. Your bad guy could buy it from a veterinary catalog under a false name. .

I think the most realistic thing would be to hit her over the head with whatever heavy object the villian could find at/near the scene.

all these ways are good. personally, i like hitting over the head, but thats because for my perp[s] the chloroform is too benign.
