Welcome to 2008! Introduce yourselves!

Welcome to NaNo 2008!

Well, almost. It's only a month away.

Funny, I got the impression of a Brazillian soccer commentator saying that.

So this is the first thread, so it may as well be the introduction thread. Say anything you want about yourself. A name would be a good start, but it's not necessary.

I'm Lokispants, so you can at least be assured that I'll be wearing some. :P

I've been doing NaNo for 2 years now. I was one of the MLs last year, along with my girlfriend. But we're not going to be doing that again.

I wrote a Sci-Fi last year. It kind of got out of hand, and kept spawning other ideas.

I'll be doing Sci-Fi again this year. I'd explain it more, but it's all hideously complicated.
MLs and Meetings

Hi everyone!

First of all, I was wondering if we ended up with a wonderful ML for this year? I volunteered, but Lindsey Grant told me that the board was very firm on the must-be-over-18 thing.

The main reason I'm posting this now and not waiting for an ML to do so is that I really need to find out if/when we're holding meet ups so I can take those days off work! It was so disappointing last year to not be able to come to them all because I had shifts scheduled for those days. So, possible ML and Canberrans, days for meetings? I thought every Saturday like we did last year worked well, but it's up to everyone else.
One little issue

Yeah. There's one little problem. We've got no ML for the region this year. Nikki and I did it last year, but we'd rather not do it this year.

If it comes down to it, I'll do the ML thing again. But if anyone one else wants to have a crack, all the luck to you.
Canberra Back Cover Blurbs

The title is pretty self-explanatory... what would the back cover blurb for your NaNo this year be?

This year I decided I was going to write a whole lot of cliches with wild abandon. No need to make it original if I'm going for 100k, just make it fun. For my 2008 novel, Rubicon:

Quote:
Bailey is endlessly amused by her addiction, the sickening rituals of a twisted drug ring, and the thought that either may one day kill her. Her main character, Fallon, is less amused. As Bailey continues to rocket heart-first into destruction, Fallon's story is a mirror image of her creator's life as she sees it. But like all good novels, the plot seems to have a mind of it's own;.and when real life continues to mirror fictional fantasy, another dimension of danger emerges. When a crippling drug addiction and bloody power struggles become the least likely of all things to kill her, Bailey is willing to do anything in the name of self preservation...

Bleed with Bailey as she shatters herself, her friends and the rubicon.

----------
