I have an idea for my next NaNo which involves an angel (no other angels or spiritual or supernatural beings make appearances). The thing is, I want to write about an angel pretending to be a human who is pretending to be an angel, but I'm having trouble with it. The point is that even though the angel says openly that she is an angel (which is one of the things she says in her first appearance to the MMC), I don't want to give her attributes of an angel that could be distinguishing characteristics such as appearance or behavior. In short, I want her to appear like she's insane, but is in fact telling the truth, and it will be up to the reader to decide if what she says is true or not. The internal conflict of the MMC (as it's written in first person) will also be a focus since he's going to have to decide if he wants to believe her or not. So she will be depicted as being mostly normal, except for the fact that she says she's an angel.

Examples of purposefully misleading the reader is like during her first visit to the MMC's house. Without being told by him, she informs him that she already knows both his parents are dead, which would make it impossible for a human to know, right? But then she explains that she knows this due to deductive reasoning and makes it convincing to the reader that this must be why she knows, though that doesn't mean she didn't already know because she's an angel, and then just used the deductive reasoning as a red herring; there will be instances like this throughout the novel, so it'll be up to the reader to decide if the added reasonings are indeed red herrings or not. Of course, not all of them will be red herrings, such as if she is asked how she got somewhere in the town so fast, to which she would reply that she flew, and give no other explanation. Therefore, it would be up to the reader either to take her word for it (therefore believing her to be an angel) or to think up an alternative explanation, or even to believe an explanation that the MMC thinks up himself. Like let's say the MMC leaves his house with her still there, then when he arrives at school (he walked there), she is already at the front gate waiting for him, yet his route is the most direct route to school from his house, so he thinks "there is no way she could have passed me and not have me notice." After getting the explanation that she flew (which of course the MMC does not believe), he either does not say anything to her about it, and/or thinks up a convincing argument (at least to him) where, perhaps by chance when she was leaving the house she got a ride from a passing person on a bike who took a different route to the school but still arrived there before the MMC because they were going faster. This explanation is pretty far fetched, but I'd say it's about as far fetched as the girl having flew there, so it'd be up to the reader to take one of the two however unlikely explanations or think up a more plausible one, if they can.

So what are good ways to have her depicted as an angel pretending to be a human who is pretending to be an angel?
