I wanted to know what everyone used for inspiration for their romance novels. I personally use many different things, but the main thing i use, and I know this is probably going to sound weird, but the main thing i use it manga.

Manga? I had to look it up. I'm not into anime. I prefer one of the following: people watching for contemporary fiction, or finding historical situations and peopling it with the characters I see while people watching.

I have to agree with Judith, I get inspiration from people watching as well. Also from things I read in the newspaper of see on TV or witness personally. Sometimes things just come to me or just a little thing will start an idea. The main story I am working on right now began with a simple enjoyment of the little mom and pop groceries you rarely run into now, and almost always on back country highways. I especially enjoy the ones in the Ozarks near where I live. Many have tables of rock crystals and quartz and other native minerals for passing tourists to enjoy and buy. Many are also linked to, most now defunct, little motels of times past - the sort with little separate cottages. I put that together with a main character who looks alot like a woman I work with, blond sleek and smart, a city girl. I gave her two children and had her running and trying to hide from some bad things happening in her life, and stopping for a potty stop at the first gas station she runs into - Mac's Quartztown Gas and Grocery. The story is developing from there, which is sort of fun.

my inspiration is past experiences and great movie scenes in romantic movies

Sometimes I get inspiration from the relationship I'm currently in. Other times, it's past experiences.

I get the best ideas from non-romantic popular fiction. The characters in Sci-fi or whatever that arent in love, have no personal life. I dig into what type of character they are, what makes them who they are. Then I see them as someone other than the cardboard cut-out in a crappy sci-fi movie or whatever, and I find the kind of woman they'd fall in love with.
----------Then they usually do or say something that gets put in a completely new idea.

I'm gonna have to go with manga/anime. I'm a fan of it. Music drives inspiration too. Rougher, harder songs signal a passionate, rough kiss scene. Calm, slower songs are more for soft, gentle kisses. Finally, and lately, the love of my life. Ever since we got together, my story has been more romantic and my MC has been more affectionate.
