It is my opinion that what truly makes or breaks a great chick-lit novel is it's main "chick" and her voice.
Where would the genre be without our Andy Sachs, Jemima Jones and Becky Bloomwoods? (FYI, these are three books that happen to be sitting in front me, not necessarily my 3 favorite chicks. ^_^)

So who's yours and what do you think sets her apart in an overpopulated genre?

For me, I'd have to choose Nina from JD Glass' Punk Like Me. Even amidst pressures from friends and family to conform to the status quo, she remains true to herself.
