Hi! My name is Nicole, I'm 33, I'm your friend Municipal Liason for the Pullman/Whitman County/Palouse area, and this will be my sixth (wow) year doing this, and hopefully my third year winning. X-D This year I'll be working on a Science fiction ghost story. So far, anyway. For those of us who've done this before, we know that the plot can change and the drop of a pen.

Please, tell me about yourselves, whether you've done this before, where you're hailing from, how old you are, and what your favorite genre to write in is. :)

Pullman Kick-off Party Planning!

Hi!

Well we have some weeks yet, but we should think about planning our kick-off party. I nominate the weekend before November 1st for our kick-off party, unless you want to go earlier. That would put our party somewhere between October 24th-26th, do we have any preferences?

There are any number of places around town we could meet at and be noisy in together for hours. I'm a big fan of Denny's simply because its very close and very easy for me to get to, even though my electric scooter is currently broken. Its also convenient because we can reserve "The Dome," that glassed-off area where we can close the doors and have privacy, if we want it. However it's okay if I'm outvoted on this one. ;) There's also Zoe on College Hill, that is popular among some of our members, and the ubiquitous Daily Grind that may be a bit cramped. Last year we met quite a bit at Bagels & Brew, but it has since closed down. :,(

Checking my calendar, I see that November 1st is very luckily Saturday. For those of you who are new, I'm a big fan of starting NaNoWriMo precisely at midnight on the 31st. If there's any interest, I can go ahead and definitely reserve the Dome in Denny's for this one, since Denny's is the only 24-hour establishment in town, and most of our members can't meet at bars. We would meet there between 11-11:30p.m. :)

Co-Municipal Liason Invitation!

Hi there!

Having done this for a few years, I can tell you that being the Municipal Liason for a region of almost any size is much easier with a co-pilot. It is surprisingly easy with a conspirator, and shockingly stressful alone. My co-ML of last year has moved to Seattle to attend that other University, so here I am again, singing "All by myself" and eating Dove chocolates.

Is there anyone around who would like to try their hand at being my co-pilot this year? It doesn't matter to me if you're going to be in this area next year or in future years. I must be pretty good at this training thing, because both of my previous co ML's have gone on to want to ML the regions they've moved to.

Please let me know either via this thread or nano/e-mail!
