Hi Everyone!
Welcome or Welcome Back to Nanowrimo 2008!
I may actually try this year.
My real name is Dante and I finished in 2003-2006, but did not start in 2007. I'm an elementary school teacher, a brain tumor survivor, a Harry Potter wizard rock fan and a dog dad all rolled into one.
Looking forward to meeting everyone and wishing you all good luck!

Hiya! Welcome back to our Vets and welcome to our newest members to another year of writing madness.
I'm Kjady from Sutherland, a little everyone knows everyone kind of town. I have a weird addiction to jpop, cpop, and fanfiction. I'm a slash fan and supporter. This is my fourth year participating and hopefully my fourth win.
Good luck everyone! May your word count be plentiful.

Glad to see the site up and running a bit early.
Anyway, my name is Matt. I was around last year, but I decided a new username was in order this year. This'll be my second NaNo, and I'm hopefully aiming for a nice big fat 100k in November (but won't get it at all, I assure you).

Hi everyone!
Keep the intro's coming everyone...it's awesome reading all about each of you.
Dante, it will be awesome if you write with us again!
Mat errr.... LitRock (cool nic) ...looking forward to word warring with you again...even though
I know I don't stand a chance. :)
The kick off party will be Saturday night, October 25th at Ci Ci's pizza on Saddle Creek Rd.
After stuffing ourselves with salad, pizza and hot cinnamon rolls, we can move next
door to Panera for coffee and chatting about literary things!
I will be selling tickets to the CiCi's event, which will give you a small discount AND
a chance to win the really super cool door prize! (no, it's not a door) :)
Bring your novel titles and supportive family members and friends with you to this
party! See you seen and keep posting those intros.

Hi. This is my first ever, so I'm nervous if I can get to the 50,000 mark, but it should be fun trying! I'm an assistant teacher at an elementary school, and an avid cat person.
Here's hoping the words come easily...

Hello, this will be my third NaNo, however, my first in the state of Nebraska. I'm originally from Fort Worth, TX, and quite frankly, I'm very unhappy here in North Platte, NE. There are some personal reasons why I had to move here and if you're interested, just ask and I'll tell you.
Anyway, I'm 20, my name is Rebecca. I go by Rebecca, Becca, Bexia, Bex, Bec, or whatever....

Iiiiii'mmmmm baaaaaacccckkkk........
This will be my third year doing NaNoWriMo.
I'm on old Iowa farm boy trapped in Nebraska for the last 16 years by the presence of The Job - but that could be ending soon (I'm currently training some folks from Argentina how to replace me), so the future is - ill defined.
My daughter got me into this madness, and then bailed out complaining she didn't have enough time. I suspect it was her evil plan all along to get me mired in the insanity and then stand back and watch me descend into a state of deep sleep deprivation...
She says she's going to try again this year. We'll see.....
So far, I haven't decided whether I'm going to write the second installment of my Sci-Fi trilogy, or zoom off in a completely different direction and do something in historical fiction based on an ancester's participation in the civil war.
I'm looking forward to the kick off party! How do we get tickets?
BTW Angel, you started this thread - but I don't see your actual introduction in the list! What's up with that? ;{)

Hello everyone in Omaha. I'm Jason and this will be my first participation in the Wrimo.
I'm hoping the pace of this event will allow me to take off the kid gloves and just get the writhing, rough maggot of a story on paper. I've made a few attempts in the past, and each one fell apart through the "precious" treatment....among other faults.
So, I'm making another go of it. I've got a fresh idea and will be using the Wrimo for a different approach.
I moved here to Omaha almost three years ago from Illinois. I like the town: not to big, not to small, plenty to do.
If I don't have my nose pressed between the pages of a book, I'm typically drawing/painting, playing guitar, or whipping up something in the kitchen.
I look forward to meeting the other Omaha writers and cheering each other on. I wish I could meet up at the kick off party, but of all days it's scheduled I'm taken with a prior engagement. But I'm sure there will be other opportunities.
Alright, glad to be here. See ya round!

Hi!
My name is Leah and though this isn't my first time participating in Nanowrimo, this should be the year that I succeed! My husband, daughter and I just moved from Kearney to Grand Island and I find myself far more inspired then I have been in previous years.
I'm just an at-home-mom, nothing terribly special. When I'm not keeping the house in order, I'm prone to a great deal of reading, penning out short stories or playing with the girl-child and our wonderful little cat - Mirage (Mira for short). I love my sci-fi, my pure fantasy and my historical romances. I enjoy keeping tabs on the Storm and the Huskers and I love the weather in the spring and the fall!
I missed the last two years of Nanowrimo to better focus on the raising of my daughter but I feel confident this year. Here's hopin'!

This will be my third time trying. The first two, I don't think I made 40K. I've been thinking about what kind of story I want to write this year and I've narrowed it down to paranormal romance or suspense.
I'll bet North Platte is quite different than Fort Worth. Be grateful you don't live in McCook.

hi everyone. I'm Polly. I signed up last year but I didn't actually do anything other than brain storm ideas. I will do my best to get more than that done this year. Anyway, I am a full-time mom to 6 and wife to my DH plus I'm in college and my parents have moved in with me since last year.

Hey, there!
This is Cyth, making a 4-year return trip (but it's only the second year I've been active on the forums at all.) I've made it the first three years, with fairly decent timing for each one, but this year is promising to be particularly efficient. I'm really excited about this project, mostly because everything is falling into place much more quickly and smoothly than past projects, and it's much easier to explain just what this story is about than it was the last few. And wouldn't you know it, I have a beginning, a middle, AND an ending--all viable! A *very* significant improvement over the last few years.
I won't be making the CiCi's trip, due to prior engagements, but you have my best wishes of good luck and many words.

Hi, my name's Samantha c: and this is my 3rd year. I hardly participated in the last 2 years, but I have high hopes for this one (don't we all...). I live in Hastings, and this year I at least have a good idea of a plot I really like, so I think I'm already better off than before. xD

Hi, Jason. This is my second year of nanowrimo. I made it through halfway last year. I hope to accomplish more this year.
I, too, moved to Omaha from Illinois a few years back. We are original Omahans, but lived in the Chicago area for 4 years before returning in 2000. Our oldest son and his wife live there now, so we make the trip to old stompin' grounds "ever so often."
Good luck and welcome to Omaha!

My name is Nabi, and I'm from North Platte (originally D.C.). This is my first year really trying nanowrimo and I'm really hoping that I can get through it!
I'm so excited, I wonder if maybe people in the North Platte area could schedule a meet up?!

Hello again from the Western end of the state. My name is Christine and this is my 3rd year doing NaNo. I actually made it all the way last year, so hoping to do that again, in less time this year. LOL
I can't believe it's been almost a year already. LOL

Yeah, I am interested and I was interested in them back home in Fort Worth, but I always had other engagements or work whenever they happened. Hopefully I'll be able to go to some this year as I am no longer a night worker!

Hi, I'm Mike. I'm from Omaha, and this will be my 2nd attempt at Wrimo. My first attempt was a success in that I reached 50k, though I didn't like how the story came out and it probably needs a rewrite after a little bit more research.
Last year I didn't make an attempt (for very good reasons) so I am very much looking forward to this year's wrimo. Good luck everybody!

Hi I'm Natalie, don't know how old everyone else on here is, but I'm only sixteen, and very much in love with writing. If I make a typo it's only because I'm excited about what I'm writing, and I sent my inner critic on vacation. ^_^
This will be my first year actually competing in NaNoWriMo, however I did write a 50,000 word novel in March after hearing of NaNoWriMo. So I was off by a few months give or take. (Actually March is National Novel Editing Month- oh the irony...)
In addition to my unpaid writing gig, I homeschool, play piano and guitar (self-taught too!), and paint. Still wavering about my plans for a career, although I would love to be a writer, the field isn't very stable and the parental authorities are supportive, but seemingly unsure.
Since the writing of my last novel I have been to and from an acting camp (working with dicrector Phillip Mackenzie!) and have become quite infatuated with the Twilight book series.
I am uncontainably excited for NaNoWriMo to start!!!!! Nothing better then sitting @ the blue moon with some random caffienated whatever and my laptop. Once Novermber starts I'll probably have a zipblock bag full of cut raw potatoes with me at all times; that's my writing fix. Strang huh?

Hi Leah:
Welcome to the Kearney area! I have lived here most of my life except for the 5 years I lived in KC in the 80's. This is my 4th year doing NaNoWriMo, but the other years I didn't do much except brainstorm ideas also, but this year I have an idea brewing that is a cross between a dream I had about (of all things) my ex-husband and story I saw on Cold Case Files the other day. I do wedding and party planning, run a banquet hall and do a little catering also as well as watch my daughter play volleyball and cheer at football games and be taxi to my nine year old. My oldest is a freshman in college at UNL studying engineering. My writing time comes usually late at night :)
I usually write mainstream, but have also dabbled in historical fiction and what I guess is spiritual - having to do with angels, life after death, and near-death experience.
Good luck and welcome back!

Hey everybody from over in Japan. It is nice to be back on the keyboard, but I still don't have my own internet yet. I'll have to email myself my work as I go, until I get internet access, so I can keep the sight updated on my progress. The finger is still in the splint and typing is a challenge, but I'll manage somehow.
Angel, I'll put a teaser of the novel on this sight after a while so you can see how things are going. It is cold here right now. Last week it was nice and warm, for the 60s, but now it is cooling off. The snow isn't far off now. Yeah.... :(

Hi guys! I'm Jenny. NaNo's keeping me quite busy, and when I'm not writing, I have plenty of other work to do. Seems I'm a bit late to the intro party, but that's life, I guess. :) Good luck to everyone!

Don't feel bad about being late... so am I. *grins*
I'm Kandi, I live in Grand Island. I'm still in high-school... but I have no social life (actually, that's a lie. I've been fighting with my friend, they keep wanting me to go places and I just tell them 'Shhh. Nano writing!'), so here I am, blowing off my friends to write. *sighs*
I have so much stuff to do this month, but I'm terrible with deadlines, and figured this would help. Little did I know that I'd blow off other deadlines to work on this one. :P
Nice to meet everyone.

Hello everyone! I thought I'd come out of my hole for a moment.
I'm a displaced Iowan, dragged out into Nebraska by my husband's (gasp!) programming job. We're in the deep south of Nebraska, nearly to Kansas. We've been here for seven years now, and will probably be here for a few more until youngest finishes high school. We have another who graduated last year and is at college in Concordia, Kansas now - eventually transferring to Kearney.
I'm forty years old this month, and after trying Nano five times - getting to 15,000 last year - I think I'm going to have no problem making it this year. As of a year ago, I quit the day job scene to write full time. No books published, but with groups like this, I'm sure that will change soon. I write mainly in the Fantasy genre and run a ghost/paranormal story online magazine.
It's fantastic to see so many from Nebraska participating.
