Well, I thought I would start out by introducing myself here in the regional forum. I'm Elonna and this is my first Nano. I am looking forward to it - actually I'm very excited. I enjoy many different genres but I am going to be working on a Fantasy for Nano. Working on an outline in October.
I live in Northern Kentucky and look forward to getting to know other writers in the area. So good luck to everyone, hope to meet you all soon :o)

Hi Elonna! I'm Mandy. Cincinnatian. Still unsure what I'm going to be writing, but it'll probably be fantasy. I have many ideas in my head, each attempting to overleap the others, each more ludicrous than the previous.

Heya, I'm Lauren. 6th year for me... kinda hard to believe.
Just moved back into the area from Pennsylvania. Gonna be mighty nice to not be stuck as an Elsewhere this year!
Looking forward to meeting new people and writing like a fiend.
Probably still doing my weird sci-fi-ish writing. Thinking of adding in more comedy this year... based on some fun writing projects I've done so far this year.

Hi! I'm a newbie to NaNoWriMo, but not to writing. I have a draft of my first novel done and with a freelance editor. I've been rather slow to start book 2 in the series, and I'm hoping that November will jump start my work.
I'm writing historical fiction about the Norse in Iceland and Greenland around 1000 A.D. I'm afraid I do already care about the characters because they were in book 1, but I hope to go forward in the spirit of NaNoWriMo anyway, without dithering too much over whether what I'm writing is good or not. I've found that it's easier to edit than it is to create, so I'm hoping this month will push me to create SOMETHING, and then I can clean up all my messes later!
I look forward to getting to know the people in this group! :-)

Hi!
I'm Xander, and this would be my first time attempting to write a novel in a month. I live in West Chester near Sharonville, Ohio. I'm not sure what I'm doing just yet, I thought maybe I'd set up a plot dartboard or something.
My wife believes that I may be a masochist, since I'm in my final semester in college, and late November is going to be dangerously close to finals, but what can I say? I love pressure.

Hi, I'm Katrina. This is my first year for NaNoWriMo. I am hoping to use it to hog-tie my inner editor long enough to get something accomplished without second- third- and fourth- guessing myself.
I live in Warren County and I am hoping to be able to do as many write-ins as possible and meet some other people with a similar writing obsession. My 14yo daughter will probably give it a shot, too.
I am leaning toward the idea of a Holmes and Watson style YA mystery, with the sidekick as the viewpoint character and the main character as a mysterious, socially inept genius, set a a fictional high school in this general geographical area.

Hello to everyone! I'm Lori from Milford and this will be my second NaNo. Last year I wrote historical fiction; this year I think mine will be about a mom dying and leaving something for her young children to remember her by. Last year was a total blast for me...first time in decades that I got to be a "writer". My then 14-year-old daughter and I did it together but I don't think she'll be doing it this year. She dislikes the format.
I did not attend any write-ins last year and don't know that I'll be able to this year either. My computer has absolutely no battery and I assume no plug-ins are available. But I look forward to hearing how everyone does. Now that I've actually settled on a theme for this year, I feel better. I had some rattling around in my mind but couldn't figure out one that actually lit my fire.
Um, what else? I have five children, three of whom I educate at home and two of which are 4-year-old twins that I try to keep from dismantling the house. I like to knit, read (duh!), garden, and cook ethnic foods, none of which will be going on in November, of course.
Best,
Lori

Hi all! My name is Karyn and I'm from Western Hills. This is the second time I'll be attempting Nano (last year I just ended up with a lot of stress and frustration). I'm not much of a reader but I LOVE to write. My story this year will be a Historical Fantasy, and I hope to have a little free time to work on it daily even between school and work in November.
My mom, brother, and one of my best friends also plan to participate this year, so I figure that means my house will be very quiet with all the furious amounts of writing going on! I hope to go to a few write-ins this year~ last year I went to one at Molly Malones and another at Front Porch coffee house. I'm a shy person though and most of the time wind up hiding in a corner. Usually I can be identified as being the gal that carries a sketchbook like a security blanket.
Good luck to everybody!

Hi, I'm Sara and I'm in Cincinnati this year. This will be my second NaNoWriMo and I'm already looking forward to starting. It looks like I'm going to be doing Sci-Fi/Fantasy but October is a long month and a lot can change. I'm also proud to say that my sister will be participating in her first YWP NaNoWriMo. I guess I just made it sound so fun last year that she wanted to give it a go.
Good Luck Everyone!

Hey, there! I'm Teresita. I just moved here from Louisville, where I'm still one of the acting co-MLs, but I'm hoping to meet all of you at some Cincinnati write-ins!. Fifth nano... Hopefully my fifth win. I have no idea what I'm writing this year. It could be a spin-off to my series. It could be the unplanned and unintended next book to the series. It could be something completely wacky and different. I have no idea! But yeah... "No Plot, No Problem!" :)

Hey ya'll! I'm Sara. It's my 2nd year doing NaNo so I'm pretty excited to be back for another year of writing. Last year was crazy, and I hope this year is just as fun! Not too sure what I'm going to be writing about; maybe original stuff (last year I wrote a fan piece). I had an plot, but I keep changing my mind on it - so who knows, maybe I'll just start writing and see where I end up. :)
Best of luck all!!

Hi, I'm Hannah.
This is my second year of NaNo and hopefully I'll actually finish this time...
Anyways, I live in Woodlawn and am looking forward to meeting those of you I didn't meet last year, (is it just me, or do we we have a lot of newbies?) My Novel is going to be some sort of road trip, mainstream, Christian *flinch* thing.
May the force be with us!

Hello, everyone! Jaime here... located in the tiny town of Morrow about 45 minutes north of Cincinnati, and an hour south of Dayton. How are you all?
This is my second year to NaNo... working on a fanfic for this time around. Got an idea in my head that just won't go away! Let's all hope for the best and make this a great year!

Howdy everyone! I'm Ben, and this'll be my second nano. Hopefully I don't run out of steam in the middle of the month again this year :). Not quite sure what I'm writing yet, but it'll probably be a fantasy, because that's what I read and I don't have to worry about realism. Plan to make it to some write-ins this year, look forward to meeting all of you!

Hooray! The site is back up!
Welcome, fellow Wrimos! It's great to be back for another year of insanity! It's good to see a lot of familiar names already signing back in, as well as some new faces in the crowd.
I'm Sherry, and I'll be serving as one of the Municipal Liaisons for the Cincinnati region. I apologize for not having things set up before everyone started checking in; between work, technical difficulties, and last week's Midpoint Music Festival, I've been a bit overwhelmed. I'll be tidying up the place sometime this weekend. A calendar of events should be forthcoming shortly....
This is my 8th year of writing. I'll be working on a mixed genre novel this year, combining chick lit, paranormal sci-fi, and a bit of espionage into what will hopefully be a semi-coherent story. (The outline makes sense so far, but that could all change once I start writing the blasted thing....)
I live in Norwood, and am looking forward to meeting everyone in person or through the forums. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a NaNo Mail.
Here's wishing everyone a word-filled November!

Greetings and salutations. I am bardi and this is my..sixth year? I am another west sider (Price Hill in my case) along with three cats, none of which are mine. This year I will be doing a sort of Science Fantasy which is by nature of an experiment. Kelbardi and I will be writing seperate novels based on the same world concept. In theory of course.
In the meantime I will also be serving as the co-ml for the second year. Which,as hard as Myopic works, really does not entail a great deal apart from trying to show up as often as possible at writeins. Hopefully we shall be expanding those this year.
For those who have never done Nano..take deep breaths, stock up on your writing beverage of choice And remember the end of the month will come..so says Benny Lava.

Hi! I'm Kia. I'm from the Beechmont/Amelia area and this will be my 5th NaNo. The last couple of years I've planned my novel to within an inch of it's life but I think I'm just going to go with it this year. I usually write fantasy but with the ideas milling around in my subconscious it could be horror or supernatural thriller this year. Who knows? Nice to meet you all.

I'm Lisa, but most of my writer friends just call me Ari.
I'm a NICU nurse at Cincinnati Children's during the wee hours but like to spend my days writing fantasy of various sorts and the odd poem. I also enjoy helping other writers figure out medical stuff for their fiction and have been a big contributor to the Plot Realism threads here in past years. Currently, I'm working out of my medical realism for fiction blog, Medical Muse http://nursewriter.com/muse.html. Feel free to stop by for plot ideas or help!
This is my fifth NaNo and I'm running 2-2 so far. Still not sure what I'll be working on this November, but I'm hoping to finish up my current project (a dark fantasy) during October, so I'd love to visit a few early plan-in/write-ins and kick this project out of the way for the coming madness.
My son may also be participating. In 2006, he was officially the youngest participant thus far at the age of 6. He met and exceeded his personal goal of 1500 words (quite the effort for a kindergartener). He also participated last year.

Hi, I'm Pam and I'm in Anderson Township.
This is my first attempt at NaNo as well as my first attempt at purely original fiction. Quite nervous about trying to shut off my internal editor - I'm a bit of a control freak and a perfectionist. My brother laughed out loud when I told him about this and told me "good luck with that" when it came to turning off the internal editor. He knows me too well. =) I generally write fan fiction, so this is totally new to me. I'm currently having a blast getting to know my characters and getting a good plot outline down. I've got several major plot points - now I just have to figure out how to get from A to B to C and make it sound coherent and be interesting at the same time.
I have discovered that if I have any prayer of being successful, I will have to do a lot of my writing in my bedroom or away from home as my 7 month old german shepard puppy Sophie (all 45 pounds of her) still thinks she's a lap dog and has zero respect for the fact that I have a laptop in my lap. It's a real good thing she's cute!

welcome aboard. And do not think of it so much giving up control as taking it. Take control of your project from that nefarious internal editor who has been passing as you.

Hi, I'm Euphrates (why do I feel like this is some kind of AA meeting - Hi my name is Euphrates and I'm a NaNoWriMo addict...).
I'm another westsider in Price Hill, and this is my 2nd year of NaNo...hoping for a win this time (we don't have NEARLY the packed travel schedule this November that we did last year - primarily because Over The Rhine is starting off their fall tour on the west coast, and the dates within driving distance aren't until December). :)
And I have no idea what I'm writing yet. Here's hoping I have some kind of clue by the end of the month. :)
Looking forward to the kick off write-in...not sure how many we'll make, but I'm determined to at least make a few this time around.

Whoops, well, I feel completely late in offering my own introduction to the group. Oh well, it's not like people at NaNo won't get used to the fact that I space out a lot. The internet, school, my little sister and that annoying fly that feels the need to land on my computer screen all eagerly distract me from what I want to do. Write. e____________e;;
Gosh darn it! There is is! -attempts to hit fly with her hand-
Have you ever touched one? It feels so weird to just smack him out the air. Then, when I feel the smallest inkling of pity, he's back up and in my face again. Wait, erm, I'm supposed to be introducing myself.
I, um, think that proves my point. I'm Jasmine from one of those absolutely wonderful suburbs. I'd rant and rave about my school, but we have enough people who hate us as is. I mean, you could get jumped for wearing one of our shirts because we inspire envy, evoke it in their hears and stir up trouble gladly. >>
I think I'm tackling romance this time. Whether or not it's cheery depends on my mood. It also depends on my attention span. I've failed the last two years because I actually forgot I was doing NaNo. -laughs- It was around April when I realised what just happened.
So, that's me. xD

Hello Everyone,
Another year...gone...but that means it's almost November again. I know I let life win last year and this year my project is in overdrive, but I'm not going to have that stop me. I really wanted to make meet-ups last year and didn't. I barely got off the ground and think that the support would be awesome.
I'm in Cincinnati, Corryville to be exact. Excited to start. Looking forward to meeting up with people.
