Helooo all! Is everyone ready for the madness? I'll actually try to make it to the write-ins this year, but I can't guarantee anything, we might be moved by then.

Hey Y'all! This is awesome and I hope I can actually meet you people face to face this year. Last year was to nutso crazy for me to do so. I'll try to make it to the write ins this year but no promises. I'm actually hosting an on-line NaNoWiMo support group with my on-line school so I'll be a little crazy. It's kids from all over Colorado and some of them are first time NaNoWiMo's so I'm going to help them as much as I can. Any advice for these 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders would be appreciated.

Hey Keltic Cat:

Encouragement, but don't hover over them. They will do it at their own pace and either win or lose.

Write-ins are probably going to be weekly, not sure which day yet, so try to make it to at least one! Funfun!

Nice to see that there's other people in the area. Currently, I'm in South Fork and this is my first time doing NaNoWriMo. Normally, I would be inclined to attend a write-in, but with a two hour round trip, I don't think I'll be making it (especially if the weather gets bad, like it seems to be heading towards).

But still, it is encouraging to hear that there are other participants in the area, though I suppose I really shouldn't be surprised, due to the college and all...

Hey there, all. Monte maiden over here. May make it to a write-in if I can get someone to watch the kids.

Have fun!

Goldenboy -- If you change your mind I'll be posting up the times for our write-ins!

MaWhit -- If you can't find someone to watch the kids you're welcome to bring them along! I have a selection of kid-friendly DVDs that we can put on for them (or you can bring some), and I'm sure none of us would mind some young'uns. ^^

Young'ns? At a college? But where will we hid the booze? Kidding, kidding. Hi, y'all, I'm Julia, and I live about 50 feet away from my ML, so she'll have my hide if I don't make it to write ins. I've tried for Nano in both 05 and 06, and failed so miserably that i had to hide in my room during 07. But I've rallied back to try again in 08! YAAY!

Thanks for the advice! I'm also going to post challenges to get conversation's going for the group as well as putting up some quotes I stumble upon. Can't wait for November to get here! (Starts counting down days)

I'll try to get to a write in but knowing my luck school work will began swamping and I'll be stuck at home. (whimpers)

There are write-ins in little old Alamosa? How do they work? Where are they at?

I got no laptop but I guess I could use a pen and type it in when I got home.

4ish days. -gazes forlornly at computer-

And yes there are write-ins here! lol. You show up to Conour Hall at 7pm - I will have a sign posted in all of the doors so you should be able to get my number and wander in to sit with us, watch TV, talk about novels, and write furiously.

If you get lost my number is (505) 793-3349

That sucks. I would attend but it's my mother's birthday and I'm pampering her and cooking her dinner. (Sobs at the missed opportunity. Checks calendar and smiles.) However there are only threeish days left till we can get novelizing!!!!!! (Runs around with paper and a pencil taking notes.)

Man, how did I just realize that I'm going to be busily calling Jacque's show while the kick-off party is going on? This blows.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I did an interview with the founder of National Novel Writing Month on Tuesday afternoon. It should be in the college paper this Thursday and I recorded it so I hope to try and get it on KRZA sometime.
