Hello! My name is Jenn, and this is my first year doing NaNoWriMo. I am way to excited for it, and I fueled all of that energy into trying to nail down some places to host write-ins. I had much success!

The M. Allen Vogelson Regional Library in Voorhees, part of the Camden County Library System, has been kind enough to allow me to set aside a room for three nights in November, specifically for write-ins.

Here is the information:

Tuesday, November 4th
M. Allen Vogelson Regional Branch Library - Voorhees
Public Meeting Room C, Third Floor
6:00pm to 8:30pm

Friday, November 14th
M. Allen Vogelson Regional Branch Library - Voorhees
Public Meeting Room C, Third Floor
6:00pm to 8:30pm

Tuesday, November 25th
M. Allen Vogelson Regional Branch Library - Voorhees
Public Meeting Room C, Third Floor
6:00pm to 8:30pm

Here is a Mapquest map of the location to allow for easy directions to and from: http://www.mapquest.com/maps?name=Camden+County+Library&city=Voorhees&st...

(I emailed Springsea all of this information to put it on the calendar, but - no response! So I figured I would put it here, to let people start inquiring as to whether they can attend.)

I will contact the library about bringing food - I am certain that I can get permission, because I've been to club meetings there, and every one involved snacks. So, for now, I would like to ask that anyone interested in attending please think about bringing some kind of edible! Horrible junk food is nice, but since we're going to be sick of that by the end of November, how about trying something a little different? I'll leave you to decide!

I spoke to the Chief Librarian about making some kind of official group (he was actually the one who brought it up, I believe). I would be really excited to do this, but first I would like to know if there are enough participants to make it worthwhile.

So, if you would be interested in attending any of the write-ins above, or in being part of a NaNoWriMo "club" at the library, please let me know! My email address is JSTharp@Gmail.com. Please include the word "NaNoWriMo" either in your subject or in the body of the email! Of course, you aren't /required/ to email me saying that you will participate, but it would be nice!

All write, I've said enough! Have a great day, and Happy Planning!

Pretty sure I can't do the Tuesdays, but the Friday should be manageable.

Hi,
My name is Barbara Hay. This is my second year, although last year I bailed out pretty early in the game. This year I am determined to get this done.

I can do the Tuesday nights, Friday night is a maybe.

Looking forward to meeting you.

I'm going to try my darnedest to get there at least once. It all depends on Hubby's work schedule.

*UPDATE*

The November 4th write-in has been canceled due to the library closing early for election day. I'm -tentatively- moving the write-in to Coffee Works on Haddonfield-Berlin Road (Rt. 561) in the Ritz Plaza pending a chat with the owners of the cafe, and I will see if I can schedule another meeting time in the library. Sorry about that! It was a glitch in the library's reservation system.

Hi...I never got to a write-in last year...hope to have better timing this year. I'll monitor this list to see where people will be...that is, IF I can settle on an topic!

This is my first year doing this, and I was currious about the write-ins. What are the normal ages of people that attend? Me, along with a few of my friends, are banding together to compete in NaNoWriMo but as teens I'm not really sure if the write-ins would be our speed. Do you think that I should play hostess to a teen write-in elsewhere, or join in on the ones that are long since established?

Sharon from Collingswood here - what a great idea, great location, great everything...except I'm tied up all three of those days. Oh well. Have a great time!

Well, midnights_glory, I'm 18, so I doubt that I'm very much older than you. If you and your friends want to attend any of the write-ins that I've organized so far in Camden County, then I really suggest that you do! I haven't hosted one before, so it'll be a learning experience for all of us, right? It's up to your discretion, but I suggest you give it a try. You could find that you like them! Also, I'd really like to have people make an appearance. It's no fun to write all by yourself in a big room.

Everyone who has replied so far: Thank you! I hope that you all have taken note of the location change for November 4th. I plan to put a few more days on the calendar and in this thread for write-ins at Coffee Works, or maybe SJ Java, so no worries if you can't make it to the ones already organized! Hope to see you soon.

another virgin here

...as in... NaNoWriMo 1st timer

the coffee place at the ritz sounds cool.

maybe we can go see a movie afterwards

as far as age groups, once you are in your 20's
it is all the same

we all are alleged adults

or in your case 18 counts as that

even if you are 15

well, you are not an adult but that does not mean we can not all hang

maybe if we buy a lot of coffee
they will give us a nice big table

so you'll give us a heads up on that before next tuesday?

i wonder, maybe we should consider changing the day

some people may be busy that day with political machinations

Hey. I'm Jonathan Gardner, 15 (and, by the looks of things, one of the youngest ones here...though if there's anyone else here of a similar age, by all means, let me know. It'd be nice if there are some other people of a similar age participating in this.

Thankfully, I already live in Voorhees to begin with, so attending these shouldn't be much of a problem for me. Though I have a quick question: is the library the one across from what was formerly the Echelon Mall?

Yes, I believe that is the right library :)

I thought I had posted here earlier but apparently I did not... Anyway, my name is Meghan and I am 18 years old. I will be going to all the write-ins. See you there!

I'd say show up to the ones already planned, and if you're so inclined, also set up ones for teenagers. That way you get more write-ins. :) I find them really useful, as it's not only a dedicated writing time, but also a time to get suggestions if things are stumping you in your novel. Even if people don't have suggestions, sometimes talking it out with another person can help to get past a stumbling point.

Oh, that's great! Thank you! With any luck, I'll be able to get to something.

And BTW I don't have a laptop at the moment either - I guess I'll bring a notebook and go archaic for the night.

Just letting everybody know, this is totally still on for tonight at the library! I hope you all can make it. I'll be there a little bit early most likely, to see if I have to nab chairs and tables from other meeting rooms.

See you tonight!

I hope to see you there!

Just letting everyone know, we are still meeting in the library in room C on the third floor on Tuesday! I might be just a little, tiny bit late, but I will definitely be there by 6:15, if I am late at all. I doubt that I will be, but still, it's good to warn!

Please try to bring something for everyone to munch on or drink - our last write-in went great, and everything that everyone brought was lovely, so I'd love to have a repeat of that.

Again, I hope to see you guys! Only a few days left!

Go Jenn go! 7,000 words left!
