Welcome returning and new South New Jersey WriMos.
It looks like we're going to have a great team of people this year. While amyhaha and I are your official municipal liasons, there are also a number of dedicated and enthusiastic writers out there organizing write-ins.
I'm excited by all the improvements being made to the NaNoWriMo site. I think they're going to make this year a little easier. Of course, all these changes make some of my previous email obsolete. I jumped the gun, again. Sorry.
One of my favorite updates to the site this year is the new calendar. We're using Google calendar - the same thing I use everyday. There are already a number of events listed. Please try and RSVP to any events you think you'll go to. That gives us some idea if anyone is going to show. I'll set up threads for each repeating event and you can reply there. I encourage you to create events of your own. Let me (or amyhaha) know what you have planned and we'll add your even to the official calendar.
You'll notice there is no kick off or TGIO party on the calendar yet. I have to travel for work at the beginning of the moth, so hopefully something will come together. Keep in mind December 6th for the TGIO party, just no details yet.
I'm hoping to have some mini-challenges this year (e.g. who writes the most each week, who writes the most in a single day). If you would like to donate anything for prizes, send me a message.
Thank you, Amy for making it a goal of yours to fundraise for NaNoWriMo. I think that is a terrific idea.
As you can probably tell some things are still up in the air. If you have any great ideas please share.
I'm looking forward to this November, but haven't a clue what I'm gonna write yet. Do you?
