I shall probably be there - and this time I will get the time right and not wander in an hour and a half late. I shall also not wander away mid conversation as I won't over book myself... I never did get to Abingdon although i did get quite a bit of shopping done...

Oh, I wouldn't worry about having to leave - some people before now have left to meet others friends & then reappeared a couple of hours later to rejoin the conversation (bringing friends along with them.... never have found out if said friends are still friends after being introduced to such esteemed personages as the Reverend HJ Pasterjack)

I've set the time frame on the calendar (if anyone can see the [family friendly star]ing calendar) to 12 noon - 3 p.m. But you should regard that as more of a window of opportunity than a fixed appointment.

This means I will have to wear The Shirt again, doesn't it?
(Look for something very large and very yellow. Either it will be an outsized radioactive mutant lemon come from outer space to destroy humanity, or it will be me. I leave it to you to decide which is preferable.)

Given that Shropshire County Council are so bloody slow I'm now thinking of writing to their chief executive, my MP here, my new MP in Wales _and_ the MP for Oswestry (when I'm narked, I like to spread it around ;-) ) I may actually be around in Oxfordshire still on the 25th.

I shall see if I can make it this year. There's a bus I can get to Oxford, but it only runs on weekdays. Have to get national express coach on the weekends, and it's darn expensive. Grr. I'll have to see how things go.

Oooh new people. I'm beginning to reconsider whether or not I can come. I might be able to come briefly I guess. We shall see.

New people are always welcome! We are warm, friendly and cuddly! Possibly too much so, in my case, but never mind.
@Nina Wyndia: have always found this site immensely useful for planning bus journeys, is it any good to you at all?

As long as I'm not working I might be able to come along.
It's my first year trying all this out as well and will probably need all the help I can get to finish, I tend to get distracted from stories after the first 5000 words or so and start something completely different.

I'm hoping to get there this time. Missed last month because I had to take my son to Uni for the first time...

I'll be in Scotland hitting things and eating haggis on that weekend.
I will think of you all though.

Haggis reminds you of us? I'm not sure I'm flattered.

I have to be at work aiding the poorly until 12, so I'll be there at about one-ish, possibly two-ish if I faff about and miss my bus. I'll try to remember the badger...

I'd love to be there (now I live about five minutes away from the meeting-place...) but I'm in London that weekend, curse it. :(

I would love to attend, even if its just to see what happens, but hubby is working, son is not people friendly, and most of all, I wouldn't know where to find the meeting place.

Borders bookshop is right in the centre of Oxford, at the crossroads of Cornmarket Street, Magdalen Street, Broad Street and Someother Street. Fairly close to Brasenose College, isn't it?
And, once you're there, the coffee shop at the back is easy to find.
And once you've found that, the fat bloke wearing the very, very, very yellow T-shirt is even easier to find. And that would be me. (Trust me, it stands out.)
So, since we'll be holding meetings at other times during the month ... well, if you turn up, you'll be very welcome! You might want to wear sunglasses, though. It is a very yellow shirt indeed.

Thanks for the info on meeting place. Unfortunately, for me it means nothing. I don't even know where the centre of Oxford is. I'm a country girl, and only go as far as Wallingford and Didcot. But as soon as I can sort out to get to a meeting, I'll be there.

I have now included a link to a mapping sort of a thingy, in the forum header, which will show you approximately where in Oxford Borders is.
("Someother Street" is, it transpires, George Street. You would think I would know that, since I walk the length of it twice daily, on my way from the train station to the bus stop and back. You would think that, but you would be wrong.)
