Hiya! I'm in Ephrata, too. As well as part of the crew Neffis mentioned. *waves* Hi, Neffis! Anyhoo, this is my first year doing NaNo, and I'm super excited about it. I'm not sure what to expect, but it should be fun.

Take care!

Well, is there anyone who wants to do a kick off party? I'd be interested if anyone else was!

Irony_and _gummybears, I'm wondering if I know you.

I could enjoy a kick off party. I'm busy though, so I might wish I was there even if I missed it.

Hiya Irony_and_Gummybears! I like the name. It's sort of ... ironic.

Well, midnight on the 31st is my annual huge-ass halloween party. (all are welcome) so maybe on the first?
BUT, we are doing a pre-nano prep write in and have fun weekend on the 24-26th if you're interested in popping in and
joining us Ava.
I will be writing at least a line or two at midnight Nov. 1. then i usually sleep and
dive back in in the morning.

For the record to us all, I thought about being the ML for the Ephrata/Moses Lake/Soap Lake area, but haven't heard anything back yet. If we can drum up some more people, I'd love to do a kick off party sometime.

By the way, Irony, I work at Wal*Mart, in HBA here in Ephrata. If anyone wants to find me, go to Wal*Mart, to customer service and have them page for Jen in HBA to the courtesy desk. I'll more than likely show up. :P

Other than that, anyone who wants to call me, just send me a Nanomail, and I'll message you back.

That's awesome! I hope they get back to you. I sent in an offer to do it after last year, but I think the site was pretty dead and I never heard back. I'd much rather you do it! LOL as I have two babies and a seriously busy schedule. ;-)
Im in for a kick off party if you have one, just let me know what time/place.

If we could get a ML, then she/you might be able to get the local schools into the act with the young writer's program. I think we have enough people to warrant that.
Our writer's group is putting up fliers from the downloads page around Moses,
did you see them or want to post some in the Ephrata end of things?

Good luck! I hope we get ya for ML

I think I know you, too, Jen. I'm thinking a history class at BBCC with Riley? :D

I have worked out my schedule and I am only going to have four 2-hour chances a week to write. So I'm gonna have to type really really fast. If I understand the contest right, we have to write 50,000 words in one month. So that means 12,500 words a week. So that means, for me, 3,125 words a day since I'm working four days a week. Is that even possible?

Thanks, Iron G. I appreciate the support.

Have you decided what you're going to write on or are you just gonna wing it?

How many words a day are you shooting for?

No problem! I have a couple of things that I'm kicking around; a family saga type thing or a crime/mafia piece.

I'm hoping for the minimum at least, 1600-1700, but I'd like more. Enough for a first draft. *crosses fingers*

Go for it, Mo!
(You've got a better goal than I do, mine is 'more than last year' which wasn't actually that much. XD )

Anyone notice the 'upload cover art' thing? I'm excited to see what people come up with for that!

I know. Looking at the novel banners and such people have up is awesome! I wish I had a photochop-esque program to play around with. I'm so jealous. :)

Irony, yes, I took Riley. Hated him for it too! Which class was it? Unless you want to tell me your name and not let me give this huge guess. :P

So, I have a slight hitch in everything. My car blew a head gasket, I didn't know it, and consequently, I blew my engine completely. Isn't it shiny?

Lol. I don't remember the class number, I think that it was history 116, western civ. Gawd there was a lot of extra reading in that class. Sorry, didn't mean to be all annoying and whatnot. :) My name's Vanessa. I actually liked Riley. Of course, i have a lot of friend's that are kinda of like him. I know a lot of the students had probs with him.

Oh that sucks about your car! That tends to throw things out of whack in a big way. :(

You have a saner (probably healthier) goal than I do. I guess the important part is that we just have fun.

Mo

P.S. Good to chat with you, Llew.

Hey. I'm from Redmond, WA. I didn't know if I should sign up for Washington, Elsewhere, or Washington, Seattle, because Redmond is kind of a suburb of Seattle. But anyone else from Redmond area? Let me know.

You can write on days you are working, too. Or if you find yourself bored at work, you can write an outline for the rest of the story so that writer's block won't keep you from working when you actually have time. Or you can just type at super-human speeds, or possibly even go sleepless for a month, or type in your sleep, or program yourself with the ability to mentally type so you can type while working, sleeping, eating, or whatever. I think those are your only options. LOL

How about something Monday? I have that day off. We could meet at the Library or something here in Ephrata, or we can meet at the college in Moses. I'd prefer Ephrata, cause it's easier to get a ride too. But wherever is fine with me.
