Your ML's have been diligent in your honor this fall! One of our many cool surprises for you this year is a partnership with the Portland Region Novelists! We had a conversation with the guys and gals over there and are now fighting for our right to claim we're the best! If you guys decide you want to do it, they have challenged us to a duel of words!
This is not just any duel, it's a Word War Extravaganza! Anyone who wants to do this (on both sides) will have their words counted at the end of November in order to show who, between Portland and Vancouver is the most awesome at word count! Portland did pretty well last year. And they have a new ML this year, so that means they may have some hidden tricks up their sleeves. But we too have a new ML this year, and I'm certain our bag of tricks will kick their bag's butt!
What do you say guys? You up to the challenge?
Do you know what the Municipal Liaison from Portland told me? She told me that she was going to beat me in word count this year! I'm not going to stand for that! There's no way she's going to beat me. There's no way they can beat us!
Lets show them what we've got!

To lose someone you love is to alter your life for ever. You don't get over it because 'it' is the person you loved. The pain stops, there are new people, but the gap never closes. How could it? The particularness of someone who mattered enough to grieve

I'm definitely in. Match me up with a Portlander and we'll see which side of the river is wordier. :p
Can we call this "The Battle of the Bridges?"

Portland has suggested that instead of matching person-to-person (because of the size difference) we should instead do a word war average. Team's average word count per person. It would bridge the gap! Also, they seem to like the Battle of the Bridges title.

We love kicking portlands butt! If only Vancouver had a pro-sports team as well. We'd totally beat some bum.

That'd be awesome.
We can pick a team name, and nicknames to put on the backs of our shirts. But be careful, the shoes are slippery.

Poor punks won't know what hit them. After all, we need to fill our own Powell's worth, don't we?

Ohhhh! I just got a Nano-Mail message from one of the Portland ML's and THEY THINK THEY'RE GOING TO WIN! PFFT!
We definitely cannot have that.

LOL! I laughed a lot when I read this thread. Count me in too! I'd like to show them that Vancouver is just as "weird" as Portland and that we'll bury them in a mountain of our words!
