Hello! :)
how are y’all? did you have a nice year? are you ready to start this crazy thing again? or is this your first time here at NaNoWriMo? don’t be scared. we’re all in this together, and it’s going to be fun. :)
so here’s the place to introduce yourself and share a little about your novel. if you don’t know what you’re writing, that’s great too. after all, to quote Chris Baty, “No plot? No problem!” *grin*
I’ll start. :)
I’m Angela, returning Co-ML for Louisville. this is my 5th NaNo, and I’ll be writing the 5th book in my adventure series about a writer and her very real superhero characters. I know I’ll be resolving the cliffhangers from last year, but other than that, the plot is a complete unknown. but that’s the way I like it. ;)

Hello everyone! I am Brian, also known as the slightly uninhibited one...or Phil, depending on whoever's talking to me. I'm going into my second year on NaNoWriMo, which I won last year and intend to win again.
I, too, have no idea what I'm going to write about. But however it winds up, I will enjoy the process. And I hope to make a few of the write-ins...whenever they are this year!
Good luck to everyone!
Brian

Greetings programs! I'm Angela's brother John. I've done NaNo since 2005 but only "won" in 2006 (a Power Ranger type story) and 2007 (a steampunk Dungeons & Dragons story). This year I plan to do a story about a group of people on a 24/7 internet reality show who set up their own micronation on an old cruise ship in the Pacific Ocean.

I want to enjoy this years NaNoWriMo. I am working on a current piece but plan on letting it sleep a while so I can create some new energy this Novemeber. I have no idea what my plot is, but I am thinking about it. My problem...my thinking gets me in trouble. I just don't know when to stop. My husband will lie in bed and say...Kay, I can here you thinking! Stop it. It's driving me crazy! LOL
I can't wait to succeed this year! (Optimistic, aren''t I?)

Hey, there!
I'm Teresita, the other Louisville co-ML. Fifth nano... Hopefully my fifth win. I have no idea what I'm writing this year. It could be a spin-off to my series. It could be the unplanned and unintended next book to the series. It could be something completely wacky and different. I have no idea! But yeah... "No Plot, No Problem!" :)

Hey!
This will be my fifth Nano and hopefully fifth win. Just as a warning- I'm going for 100k and I type fast. Expect crazy wordcounts.
My novel is about a telepathic sniper working in a resistance movement. It's set about 100-200 years in the future.

Hello again, all! I'm back - not certain I'm going to take up the challenge again though. I'm hella-busy with trying to get a local improv TV gameshow off the ground and on the air (www.alleytheaterlouisville.com), so my free time may not be so free. But I'm preparing just in case I make the last-minute commitment to it.
Last year I penned a superhero romance/drama "Asunder". I completed it in time, but fell 13,000 words short. I'd planned more, but my wife went into the hospital around the time I'd planned my major writing blitz (over Thanksgiving sadly). That novel is still sitting in my computer waiting to be edited and marketed - anyone that read the raw form has suggested doing so, but there's that time thing again.
This year, should I make the leap, I'm planning on writing essentially a manufactured autobiography. I phrase it that way because it's not about me per se, but my imagination. I'll be getting words, phrases and suggestions from people and using that on a daily basis to put myself in imaginary situations and getting myself back out again. 30 days of interconnected short stories. The title (working) is an homage to the greatest fictional daydreamer of all, Walter Mitty.
I'll be checking in frequently, maybe even making a thread in here for those daily ideas when the time comes.

How many years have I done nano? 3, I think? All fantasy, two in one world and one in another. This year I'm writing in another new one. I kind of know what's going on there, except I don't, because the bloody characters won't decide what really just happened. To them, I mean. Before the story. Or at least before where I think the story is.
Sorry, it's Monday, and it was a too-long day at work...
Anyway, are we still meeting at B&N on Thursdays?

Jam,
You will enjoy the meet-ups. I always did. And if you leave the city or state, leaving this group of people may be the only regret you have.
I took last year off after working on and failing with a novel in 2006 in Louisville. I'm in Nashville this year and ready to tackle NaNo again.
My story this year seems like it is going to be a sequel. I had my idea for NaNo, and it wouldn't leave me alone and I had all this backstory that has kinda forced itself into story and if slowing through my brain and body without permission. I sat down today to start working on it. It's actually good practice for November and something I've never done.
Neither stories have a title, but are more like the TV Show Alias, than I was expecting.
Good luck to all of you, and as always - I wish I were there.

Hey. :3
Nick again (yay). Unfortunately I might not be able to make many write-ins this year but I'll certainly be doing the ol' novel writing. This will be my third year.
The first year I won by a hair with a novel entitled "E.C. Battalion". In it, New Jersey is the last stable place on earth, and the protagonists find themselves getting to the bottom of the machines that caused the destruction. They wind up going to the planet of the people who made these machines and-- well-- don't emerge victorious, really. :P I wrote about 3,000 words in the last hour of November and, needless to say, is quite hilarious.
Last year I wrote "Diamonds & Catfish." Long story short the protagonist, unknown to him, has a half-brother who leads the country. Stuff happens, the protagonist gets sent on a suicide mission by his own brother and... well... I don't know. I passed 50,000 words before finishing the story. Sad. :(
I have no idea what I'll be writing this year. But my main goal is to finish it. And hopefully it'll look a little nicer than my last two attempts.
Chao ^_____^

Hi all. This is my first NaNo attempt. No idea what I'll write about. I usually write children's stories (not usually much beyond pucture book size), so this may end up being a midgrade to YA thing. Will see. I just really need a kick in the pants to WRITE and some freedom to not have to stress about perfection for a while, but just work on quantity.

Hi all! I'm Mei. This is my third year (and hopefully third win) doing NaNo with this group, though I had a failed attempt back in 2002 in my hometown. I had been planning to continue my fantasy series from the past two years this November, but due to a lack of inspiration for it I'm looking at taking a year off that plotline. The plan for this year is to write a sci-fi novel, entitled Gridlines, about a research company that creates engineered human weapons. This is the first time I've ever been able to sit down and write up an outline of what I want to happen before I actually get to November first, so I'm optimistic that this new approach will make my NaNo-ing easier than it has been in the past.
Can't wait to see everyone at the write-ins! I most usually make an appearance at Heine Brothers (because I weasel my way out of working on Saturdays) and Barnes & Noble (because it's a three minute walk from my apartment and school). XD

Hi. I'm Michael and this is my first NaNo. I mostly have an idea for what I want to write. It's a story that's been in my head forever I've just never really sat down to write it as it has formulated for all these years. It's a sort of fantasy story that is REALLY long. I tried writing a little bit of it last year but 2 of the friends I had read it kind of tore what I wrote apart, so I stopped writing. I got here because I have a friend that's on her second year here and she thought it would finally get me to write. I'm hoping that I'll finally sit down and begin to get out this thing that's been buzzing around in my head forever. Any support would be greatly appreciated.

I'm Garrett, but most of the Louisville NaNo'ers call me Pax. This is my fourth year and, yes, I have a plot. It is a glorious plot, a wonderful plot, a plot to make you all laugh and cry. I don't know, maybe not. But it sounds interesting in a synopsis. You'll have to ask me in person, though.

Hey Louisvillians!
I'm Ellen. I'm 18 -- probably one of the youngest people in this regional community. I'm a little nervous about that, to be honest.
I live in S. Indiana, went to Sacred Heart Academy for a few years, I'm now finishing up my high school credits online. Taking a year off before college. This is my first NaNoWriMo attempt, and I'm in it to win it! My novel, "Strange Love", will be YA, about two estranged friends and what estranged them. It'll have lots of hairy religious and moral issues and be set in... S. Indiana (!) with all of its customs, quirks, pretties, and uglies. I'm feeling naive and confident about this whole thing.
I hope to meet some of you on Sunday!
