Oo, shiny new forums! xD
Anyway, I'm all the way over here in NE Arkansas-too far away from the NW meetings-and I was wondering if we had a ML. I remember someone thinking about being the ML, but nothing was decided.
Anyone else from NE Arkansas?

Well yeah I am. From NE AR that is. But I remember you from last year. You're like an hour away from me right? So I haven't talked to you since then though. It'd be awesome if we could have some write-ins. Although I'm definitely not up for organizing them. I am so jealous of hearing about what they're doin over in Cali. Like the huge write-ins, where you get all this free stuff for coming and blah blah...so jealous!
But yeah...hi again.

Yes, I remember seeing you last year! (Online, that is...)
I think it was around an hour away...
I would love to have write-ins, though I'm too young (and too lazy) to be an official ML. There was a guy a couple months ago who mentioned that he was thinking about being the ML, but I haven't heard from him since.
Huge write-ins, free stuff?! Agh! That sounds really awesome...now I'm jealous also!
I really hope that this region can somehow organize write-ins this year.

I have a friend in the YA book club, and he said that y'all were planning a lot for NaNo....=)
Which is good...one of these days I'm actually going to /go/ to the book discussions, I still get the emails =P

Yes yes yes! That would be amazing! Jonesboro is pretty good for that too. And I have other local friends doing it this year with me so write-ins would be fun!

*shrugs* Doesn't look like I'm going to get named as an ML, or even get a response. I figure they're busy. I'll post on these forums when I figure out when we can do the write-ins, though, okay?

Well, I got the poster and the NaNoWriMo Triumphant Chart of Noveling Progress, so I'm gonna post those somewhere and start signing people in over here. If you want to sign up, come on by the public library in Jonesboro, head to the Childrens section and ask for Will.

I really want to be a part of it, but I live an hour away and I won't be going up to Jonesboro in who knows how long. How do you think you'll be working this thing?

Yay! Jonesboro now has its own ML and Region sticker!
And, in reply to the previous poster, I'll be using the public library in Jonesboro as my home base. I'm also going to nail down the dates of the writing parties as soon as possible, so I can let people plan ahead as much as we can. =)

I an over near Batesville, not really NE but more NC. I would love to be part of a group, though. Don't know how often I can get to Jonesboro. I know it will have to be on Saturday for me, as I teach every day.

Good idea. I went ahead and scheduled a Saturday Halfway Through party on Nov 15th. I figure we can get together and have dinner somewhere and see how everyone's doing.

I may have to join you guys in Jonesboro on the 15th then. We shall see how things go with the trip to Houston on the 7th and the workshops my school has me going to. I live in Stuttgart btw, anyone else from this neck of the woods?

Nano is sneaking up on me! In church, someone reminded us of an event that happened on the first Sunday of November-two weeks from that day! I was in shock-my first thought, but I'm not done with my planning! Apparently, NaNo starts whether or not I've planned enough....xP
So, are we going to have a kick-off party (or whatever they're called)? I sure hope so, as it sounds, well, fun xD

Yep, we sure are. Here's the schedule re-printed from the main thread in the Jonesboro Regional Forums:
Okay! We have a fairly stable calendar of events now, so I'm going to go ahead and list 'em here. Remember that they're also on the Google Groups Calendar listed in the header.
October 30th, 6:30 PM: The kick-off party! It will be held at Cici's Pizza, back behind the Mongolian Grill in the mall on the corner of Caraway and Highland in Jonesboro (Not the Indian mall...the other one). This is just a meet-and-greet, and will be held in the back meeting room (as far as I know).
November 4th, 7:00 PM: Our first write-in. It'll be early on in the NaNo season, so we'll all be fresh and incredibly strong! We'll meet in the Round Room of the library and see how things are going, and then we'll adjourn to the computer area and write for the rest of the hour (including a couple of word-wars!).
November 15th, 5:00 PM: Halfway There party. That's right, we're already halfway there! This will be held at The Edge Coffeehouse, just off the ASU campus and across the street from the ROTC armory. This is an opportunity to just sit and relax and chat about how the books are going. The manager wants me to remind everyone that The Edge is a nice place to sit and write at any time during the week.
November 17th, 6:00 PM: Our second write-in. This one's longer, running from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We'll do the same thing as the last one: meet and talk about the books and then do some writing. This time we'll have a break for snacks a while in, and we'll have a chance to visit a little more and support each other down the home stretch.
December 1st, 6:30 PM: Thank Goodness It's Over party. We'll laugh, we'll cry (okay, probably not, but you never know) and we'll hold a drawing for the NaNoWriMo 2008 poster.
