I made you hurt, cry, get ripped to shreads, become insanely jealous of your best friend, and nearly killed you at your brother's hand...wait, don't go! I do really love you, and you'll see it's all worth it at the end of the trilogy! Only 2 books to go...think you can hang in there for that? Thanks for letting me keep your story going. I gave you a suckishly ambiguous ending in the last book and I am freakishly glad you complied in giving me your consent. I know I put ou through a bunch last year (falling off cliffs, kidnapping, etc) but I know you love me and I love you. Though you are the first charecters I have made you seem so well done. From Mion's confidence and impatience to Neo's Calmness.You have a feel thaqt I do not think I could get from other charecters from other ideas. The Vampire in you makes you seem like my ideas are alive. In a way they are, through the printed words.

My dearest main characters (that would be Tial, Gioa, Bawb and Karu as of this moment),

November is fast approaching, and I just recently got the plot semi-fleshed out. Sorry about that. But I'm excited about getting to write you all out when the month is finally upon us.

Karu, I know you have a smaller part than the rest of them, but I still say you're a major character. After all, you're the one abridging all of their journals to make this thing. In a way you get to be me, since you play author a little bit.

Tial, you get to leave your comfortable merchant ship and go play spy in a strange world. I know it's not exactly what you want, but it'll be an adventure, and although I don't think you'll actually enjoy it as it goes on, I think you'll look back and still want to throttle me. Try to have a little fun.

Gioa, you're definitely going to want to kill me in some way. You always did want to teach though, and I'm giving you a similar position. I think I'll be sure to throw in something like that. You'll probably come out of this liking me more than Tial will. But you Earths are so much more patient than Airs sometimes.

Bawb....I'm not sure what your reaction will be. I'm going to be stretching your calm though, what with dealing with your brother and best friend. Just enjoy the fireworks, all right? That's all I think I can say.

As for you minor characters, I think most of you come out with the more fun roles of this. Copin and Jowe, you two at least get to make the fireworks, even though you're going to fight all the time. But then again, Fires love to fight. What am I thinking? As for the rest of you who might not have names yet...good luck dealing with Tial, Gioa or Bawb, whoever you might get. You're going to need it.

thank you for taking such a distinct shape in my head so early on. (I know it might have helped to see a picture that made me think 'it's him, it's him - squeeeeee!!!', but anyway...) I am sorry about your name, it isn't the most beautiful I could have come up with, but it is after all just an alias and you do have red hair. I'll give you a really cool last-name later on to compensate, promise!

I am also sorry that you have to work with someone like Sachie. You will eventually warm up to her, but I know that you at least initially will find her deeply annoying. But she is just out of high school, you can't expect too much of her. And she will admire you heaps, I'm sure you will like that at least - even though you might have to take a bullet or two for her. Real bullets.

But you are SO cool, and I'm really proud to be your creator. We will have a fun month in November!

I know you'll laugh at this, but I'm glad we were able to gather 'round on the ridge last night. The view was exceptional, and though I was complaining, and freezing and complaining about freezing, I really was happy just to dance with the two of you. I just wish I could've played some guitar to accompany your harmonizing, but actually, you know what? "Knife" was too beautiful to touch - David Colin ruma-tum-tumming behind, his grumbling bass, star shine, and thou, Tobyn, blithely cooing to the breeze, holding lead, as Addie, lying beside, effortlessly blended the tones. Killer, epic echoes.

I know you two have been having some difficulty finding a house in Maine, but I'm trying. I just don't know the area too well, just the Hundred Mile Wilderness Bryson wrote about. How would you feel about Nor Cal? If you go far enough north, I bet it's pretty similar. Oh, and jobs...Tobyn, I thought you wanted graduate school, 'cause there wasn't much else or something, but you didn't seem too interested in it last night. Addie's good at the newspaper - what do you want? No rush - just figure something out before Halloween, maybe?
