Hi all!
This is my first NaNoWriMo. I'm pretty excited to start, as I've always wanted to write a novel. So far every attempt I've made has been a total bust, mostly because I get through four pages and say, "eh, I'll do it later", and never go back to it, opting instead for mind-numbing copy of corporate brochures.
Time to get my you-know-what into gear and get 'er done!
Anyone else from the Mahoning Valley out here?

Hey! I'm from Youngstown. I've done NaNo several times, and won two of those years.
Welcome! May I add you as a buddy?

The first line came to me at the grocery store---it's still a jumble in my head. All I have is there's a short woman in the story.
So are we the only ones from Y-Town up in here? All for a meetup....How bout you---what's cookin for you this NaNo?

I'm in Poland.
This is my third time, I've got 0 successes. I almost went to a meetup in Canton.
I don't have any idea what I'm going to write.

Hello. This is my second year in NaNo. I moonwalked over the finish line last year 1 day ahead of time! Hopefully the muses are as generous to me this year. I've got a couple of different ideas for this one. I'm either going to do an easy-to-spread romantic comedy like last year or a "Dear Abby" inspired collection. Right now I'm tending towards the latter.
Also, I'm from Warren. I used to belong to a writer's group based in Girard that met at Borders in Niles. Either it fizzled out or they stopped telling me where they were meeting!
Good luck, everybody!

Hello. First time I am going to make a serious attempt at completing this. Going to push aside the self-doubt and excuses and "Just write it" which is my motto for November. Glad to see other participants from Youngstown. Feel free to add me as a buddy. I think it is a great tool for motivation

I live in Warren. I'm going to give it a shot this year. I did about a couple pages a few years ago, but this year I made a deal with my nephew that if he finished a screenplay for National Script Writing Month in April I'd do NaNoWriMO. Little bastard actually wrote a 100 page screenplay, so now it's put up or lose face for me.

I'm up for a meet up if it's alright with everyone else. Are we thinking of having it early on? Maybe a week or so into it? It's good to see we've got some enthusiastic writers involved in our area. Keep spreading the word.

I think a week into it would be great! it is great to see local writers trying this. I wasn't sure when I signed up if I would be the lone Y-towner.

This is my first time, and I'm kind of scared, although I write online at my website every week...it's not the same as writing a novel! I'm from Campbell, have some ideas, have a plot....just need to find the time to write! Am lowering the boom on the family: Mom is writing, DO NOT DISTURB! Hope they all can manage a mop and the laundry.

I'm presently from the Boardman/Canfield area. I'm a first timer and it is all elizatucker's fault. ;) Hey chick! It's your focus of fiction buddy. And I'm always looking for more writing buddies. And Panera in Boardman sounds good for a meet up on the 9th.

I'm not gonna be in town on the 9th, but by all means, go ahead and do this thing!
Anyone game for a Mid-Month Meet as well? I should be able to score us a table at Barnes & Noble in Boardman on the 15th. I'm thinking it'd be cool to have a write-in that day, and maybe a mid-month refresher workshop or something?
Thoughts? Anyone? Bueller?

Also, I'm going to be running blog posts, exercises, and such related to NaNo, starting today, on my LiveJournal. You don't have to be an LJ member to join, but if you do, I'll be glad to add you!

The 15th would work for me depending on the time. If we're talking after 5, that could be a go for me. But before then I have a recording session planned for my other passion.........but if an earlier time is better, then by all means, group, go for it.
Ah, too bad eliza that you can't make the 9th!

I know! I'd love to hang with all of you!
I'm thinking making the 15th an all-day thing, with the hopes of catching up / getting ahead, depending on where we are in our stories by then. Maybe 9am to 9pm? The big question for me is the same as always: will I have a sitter all day?

Looks like we're all off to a decent start! I didn't get any real writing in yesterday, though. I did, however, journal my story a little bit, and worked out some of my main character's background and such (in other words, procrastinating).

Hey, everyone! =3
I didn't do any writing yesterday, either. Work and school. What a month to have this, lol.
I wanted to, though, all day, I was fighting with myself to not drop everything else that I was doing and leaping on back into my story. Hahaha.

Hey Y'all! My name's Ashley... You can call me Ashley, Ash, or anything else you decide I should be named. I have way more nicknames than I can count, and I'll answer to pretty much anything! *Laughs*
...After being just a *little* disappointed that there was no "Youngstown" region, I clicked "Elsewhere" and came across this thread! I, too, am from Y-Town. :) So cool to see that there's more people in the area writing besides me!
...I'm also a probie when it comes to NaNoWriMo. :) Though I have experience writing, this is my first time trying NaNo (An author friend of mine talked me into it!)... It's a challenge, but I think we can all make it happen!
...Feel free to add me as a buddy on here if you wish. :) I'm always up for new friends, especially when it comes to writing.
...On that note, it's nice to 'meet' you all, and I wish everyone the best of luck and much success!!! :-D

I was about 10 minutes late but the place is packed but the people with laptops don't seem to be NoNos. I have a
flyier printed out . I might need to flee any minute but I'm way in the back.

There was supposed to be a write-in tomorrow at Barnes & Noble. I didn't reserve a table in the back -- which is fortuitous, because I am sick. Pneumonia. Terrible fevers. Hallucinations. (not at the moment...I don't think)
So...reschedule for next weekend, mayhaps?
