What kind of plot bunnies do you have?

I have three, right now.

Normal Plot Bunnies: Cute, cuddly, great when needed, for last minute inspiration or a good long plot.

Killer Plot Bunnies: Not so cute, with big sharp teeth and a nasty temper. Only way to get rid of them is by writing them right away or the Holy Hand Grenade.

And the newest:

Technicolor Plot Bunnies! Movie ideas, ideas that they just want to be filmed, maybe noveled about, but mostly, they want to be a movie.

I have a collection of plot bunnies floating along the edges of my room. Most of the time they get sucked into the vacuum of my daily life.

Midnight plot bunnies: Absolutely brilliant and fully formed, but if you don't scribble them down when they happen they'll be gone by morning, and if you do you won't get rid of them.

excel, I LOVE that mental image. xDD

My bunnies tend to come in varied forms, especially since I don't just write in various formats, but I draw, too. But I love most of 'em. Even the creepy ones. >:D

I have three right now:

Plot Bunnies: Stuff that will move story along, build characterisation, or generally just add some interest to the story.
Plot Sticks: Stuff that happens that upsets things a little, poses some problems or generally causes strife.
Plot Hammers: Stuff that really gets my characters into trouble/ up s**t creek.

Adhesive Plot Bunnies: Plot bunnies that don't seem related to anything in your story, but somehow end up sticking to SOME element of your plot or another.

Anti-Bunnies: Bunnies that pretend to be helping you, but are really leading you off a cliff. Also known as "Plot Piranhas".

Poetic Plot Bunnies - you suddenly wax poetic and begin writing the story in verse. Until, of course, you can't find a rhyme for orange.

Oh, and lemmings. Like stated above.

I have the fvollowing

"Plot Bottle Caps" they're a dangerous form of bunnies, believed to be related to the "Killer Plot Bunny" if you're not careful you will step on and fall on these critters, named for what a bunch of red coke caps on red carpet will do.

"Plot nijitsu rabbits" these like to come from nowhere and try to beat you up if you don't use their idea (like the one that made me include two gay characters doing the horizontal mambo last nano) -_-

Plot Spanner/Wrench - this is a bit like fruit salad. it's thrown in and changes almost everything, it comes in many shapes (screwdrivers, strangely shaped rabbits, bears, space ships, hydroponics accessories.)

I also have plot pennies.

but they're minor, like when I randomly decide 10K in that a character's name is dumb and I can't spell it and suddenly I have two names for one character! (always good at this point is to make a postit about this issue)

I have the normal and the technicolor bunnies.

But most of all, I have the midnight bunnies. It doesn't matter if I am just falling asleep or deep in dreamland, I will forget the idea if I do not write it down.

Singing Plot Bunnies: These plot bunnies only come when you're listening to a certain song, and go away when the song ends if you don't write it down. I get these ALL THE TIME!

Plot Goldfish / Amnesia Bunnies: These are plot bunnies that come for only 5 seconds, and then disappear before you can fully get it down on paper (or, heck, even FIND a piece of paper and a pen). Trust me, these bunnies DON'T COME BACK. :(

I get the mean ones that go away quickly. :( However, I have a Killer Plot Bunny that's just DYING to be a NaNovel right now! ^_^

There is only one type of Plot Bunny bugging me right now-

Last Minute Plot Bunnies- they're the type that come two minutes before you have to go and do something and then disappear if you leave them, but you have to leave them to get your work done. Gaah!

Man, am I plagued--I mean blessed--with them. My own contribution:

One Shot Plot Bunny -- They're the ones that give you that spectacularly great opening scene just perfect for your novel. Until, that is, you try to write it and can't get past a few pages. Generally proliferous on the Dares or Choose a Scene Thread.

Baby Plot Bunny -- They come with a character and maybe a scene for said character, but otherwise, you're on your own. Found mostly in the recesses of the Adopt-a-Character Thread.

Epic Plot Bunny -- These bunnies make even the rabbit in Monty Python's and the Quest for the Holy Grail look tame. They come with a fantastic storyline, maybe some key characters, and a plot guaranteed to get you to 50k, and beyond. Now if only you had the ability to write the story... These are found in the deepest corners of your imagination, limited only by the sights and sounds of your daily life.

Hole-y Plot Bunny -- It might come with funny lines, humorous anecdotes, or even some really great puns, but if you don't watch out, you'll fall into a plot hole...and then you'll need more than a new tire to fix the flat. These can be avoided (sometimes) by planning your novel, or considering the questions most authors hate to ask, for fear of not knowing the answers. If we don't know them...how is the reader supposed to guess?

Plot Cougars -- These make plot-anythings look tame. React fast when the Plot cougars are around, because if you don't get them now, they'll drag you away, kicking and screaming with a completely different plot.

Lurking Plot Bunnies: these appear just at the moment when i don't have a pen to write them down: in class, walking somewhere, driving, or exercising. and of course, 80% of the time I forget them by the time i acquire pen and paper.

Insane Plot Bunnies: ideas so crazy they might just work.

I get stay awake plot bunnies. Right after I turn out the light and just as I'm about to get into bed the plot bunny hits and I write it down. Then I try to get into bed again and the bunny gives me more. I turned on/off/on the light about three times two nights ago. It was ridiculous. And I have the sinking feeling that if I try to keep the light on and wait for it, it won't come back.

Death Wish Plot Bunnies - Bunnies that bring me a perfectly neat and wonderful ending to a story... 45 000 words before I wanted it to end.

Relentless Plot Bunnies - The ones that chew on the front of my brain until I have to wake my computer out and hash out whatever they tell me too.

I maintain a farm for plot bunnies in my backyard. I swear!

Take a look at the nightmare of an epic I have on my webpage. I swear the thing is bigger than anything that took out New York at any time. It started out big, I'll admit that, but it just kept growing and growing and growing and growing . . .

Be careful, plot bunnies, like all bunnies, multiply.

My problem this year is an over abundance of ideas. Last year was easy. Now I have to do the darned thing again!

alright.. PLOT BUNNIES!!! OH MY!!!!

they come in all shapes and sizes, floating in the clouds, riding on the telephone wires (ussually on unicycles), and traveling telepathically theough biology classrooms.

Mostly, they totally destroy the seriousness of the novel. And take it off track. And involve characters that couldn't possibly exist. And... well, the most common plot bunnies appear to have nothing to do with whatever story i'm working on...

(alright, my favorite plot bunny (one found floating telepathically in bio): A robot, lieing there, doesn't work. It needs Batteries! Super-battery flies in. He sees the problem, climbs in. Robot comes to life! Br. Robot goes outside. Mr. Robot picks an apple, and turns it into... dududuhhhhhh.... two butterflies!!!!!! mr robot continues his walk. Mr robot trips! Super-Battery falls out.)

My plot bunnies are currently starting to look a lot like Justin Novak's 21st Century Bunnies:

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

...except with fangs.

When I was in high school, I had a system for identifying plot bunnies. They came in different colours--each colour represented a different genre. And occasionally, they would come dressed in the clothes of the character I was supposed to be writing about. These days...they mostly show up in the form of painful cramps in my wrists or my headbones, as they latch on to gnaw on me. They still come in odd colours, though. And they are decidedly nocturnal.
