this is like torture.

I try this every year, and I never succeed.

whining over here in Hood River, maybe this year it'll happen.

heaven knows, i need it to.

and if anyone wants to go down to dog river (or anywhere?) and type, i might manage it this year - kids are getting older, and the oldest can babysit!

Nice to see I'm not alone out here by the river.

Another The Dallesian reporting in. I've wanted to do this for a while, but have never gotten very far. A plot kind of smacked me in the head about a month ago, so hopefully this will be my year. :)

The Dalles area ROCKS! No, really... aren't there a lot of 'um out here? *grins*

Hello, and greetings from a member of the under-paid young adult working class. Hopefully I'll have a little more time for NaNoing this year and with the added use of my handy lap-top, I'm looking forward to typing the month away. ^_^

Hey-o Gorge-types! I'm usually hanging around Hood River myself...though at the moment, I'm down in Eugene at UO. Go Ducks!

Good luck, everybody!

Would be a good idea but it is almost November..once it turns Nov 1st I'll be spending every minute away from work and kids in front of a computer or curled in chair with notebook paper.

Too bad I can't write and drive or write in my sleep or write while...you get the idea...LOL

No kidding, that'd be nice... I don't have kids to worry about, but I know work is going to take up a lot, if not a lot of my time, then a good chunk of my creativity. I can sometimes get burnt out fast if I'm not careful and/or don't have a clear goal in mind.

Is there anyone else in The Dalles area that would like to call a get-together before all writing breaks lose? There are a few good places around here that a bunch of people could get together and have fun if they had a mind to. It tends to be the time thing that's hard to figure out.

Any ideas?

I don't know about meeting this week, but it might be fun to do a first day writing group on Saturday, maybe in HR. I don't think we have many places in the Dalles where we could all be comfortable (although Holsteins might work). Would anyone else be up for that or should we all just stay in our caves until we get stuck and need peer pressure to keep writing? :)

Well yes, but the hard part is finding a time that works for everyone and a place we could agree on. :)
