Utah County Write-Ins

Any day works for me, I just need to know in advance so I can work my schedule around it.

Thursdays would be great.

Moved to Utah recently and I'd love to get to some write-ins this year. I think Friday evenings or Saturday afternoons would be the only times I could make it. But I would. Really.

Well, they did say that some of the posts would be lost.

I am truly sorry for misreading your earlier post Utoxin. It's not even November and I'm going without sleep!

I'm still free every night, so whatever works for everyone else will work for me.

I would love to try and meet up with you Utah Wrimos. I missed every write-in last year because of hubby's work schedule. I'm all good for Friday nights or Saturdays though.

Huh. I think I know where that is.. Provo isn't THAT tough to find stuff in, regardless.

Any night of the week is fine for me. Though weekends tend to be a little busier than weekdays.

I'm going to go ahead and tentatively say that Tuesdays are the night I will run write-ins. Anyone else is still welcome to schedule other nights if they want to. :)

Being that I'm new to the whole Nanowrimo experience, at what time are the write-ins and are we getting together before November?

We are getting together on the 14th of October at 7:00 PM at Dragons Keep here in Provo, and we are also having a kick off party around the 31st (I don't think that a time has been set yet). He just tentatively set write-ins for Tuesday through the month of November, but it could change. :-)

What's the get-together tomorrow consist of? I'm interested, but I'll have to figure out if I can make it. Do you know of any buses that go by there?

I would have loved to come tonight, but I'm currently out of state. However, I'm going to attempt to make it to a write-in or two. I actually know where Dragon's Keep is.

Hey, just barely moved here. In fact, closing date on the house is November 10. I'll be writing and attending as I can. So far as I know, any time is good for me and I wonder if Saturday afternoons would be the best for everyone. Then we can get together for the first and second-to-last day of November. :)

Tuesdays work for me; I attended the Provo Write-Ins last year and liked 'em a lot!

I often go to the Salt Lake write-ins, because I know more people there, but I am technically a Utah Valley Wrimo. I ought to come down to a write-in and meet you guys!

I'm interested in coming this year. I only made it to the kick-off and one write-in last year because of work, but I have a different job this year and can make it any weeknight. Saturday afternoons/nights are hit and miss since I do get asked to work them and don't usually know until Thursday, but I'm available Sundays if anyone wants to get together then.

Oh, and is there a date/time for the kick-off yet?

Halloween at 7:00 PM at the Dragons Keep (Same place as last year).. and apparently we're also having our first write in on Saturday afternoon sometime.

I know this is a silly question...but what is a write-in and what is Dragon's Keep?

It's not a silly question at all! A write-in is a get together we have once a week during November to write together, or discuss any issues we may be having with our novels. It's great because you get a fresh perspective from others who are struggling along just as hard as you are.

Dragon's Keep is a comic store on University ave and.. 200 something (I think?) North in provo. We have our write-ins there.

Okay, so these write-ins sound uber awesome, but I've never been to anything like them.

Does it sound to newbie of me to ask how many people usually show up for these things?

Also, what ages come? I would probably be a fish out of water if I went. :D

All ages and types show up, teen.hearts. :) I noticed in another thread that you're a freshman, but you'd be absolutely welcome! So far the turnout has been quite low. There were 7 people at the initial get together, maybe five at the kick off. The more the merrier, for sure!

The official get-togethers are Tuesday evenings at 7 pm. This Saturday was just a kick off get together that may or may not be repeated in the future. The address to Dragons Keep is floating around somewhere.

Nuts...Tuesday is the one night I can't make it until closer to 8:30. Any chance you guys will still be around that long?

We disbanded at about 9:15 p.m on November 4th, and usually go till at least 9.00, so an 8.30 arrival would give you 30+ minutes at the write in.

I think I'd favour a weekend write-in so that I don't have to stress over doing homework. I was already tentatively planning on doing a writing crunch on November 15th. We could do it at Dragon's Keep, I suppose. That's a Saturday, and I'd want to do it in the late morning/early afternoon, but the evening is also an option.

Who would be interested in this?

What was the turn out of the last write-in? How many WriMos showed, and what ages?
