Is anyone in the Cheesman Park/Glendale/Cherry Creek/Downtown Denver
area interested in a regular write-in at Hooked on Colfax?

DETAILS
------------------------------------------------------------------
Location: Hooked On Colfax, a local coffee shop
3215 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80206

Day of the week: TBA (Probably a week night that isn't Tuesday)

Time: 7 - 10 PM

Format: First 30 mins for socializing, then mostly quiet writing time
---------------------------------------------------------------
If we have 10 people commit, we can reserve the basement area.
There's a small deposit, which I'd be happy to put up. They have free
wi-fi. There is also free street parking along Colfax.

Here's the web site: (well, myspace, that seems to be all they have):
http://www.myspace.com/hookedoncolfax

I'm also up for recommendations of other neat places in that area. I
like the Shoppe, but I think it's kind of small for a write-in.

If you are interested and think you can reasonably commit to coming, please post
here with what weeknights work for you. If we can get at least 10 people in fairly
short order, we have a better chance of getting the night we want reserved!

(Hopefully I remembered all the info I needed to post for hosting a write-in?)

I'm still up for these Hooked on Colfax meetings. Looks like the threat got erased during the server hiccups.

Thanks for reposting that, revdc5! Please vote for your day ASAP if you're interested and haven't already.

It looks like Monday is winning by a nose right now. Not to sway the vote, but I think that'll probably end up being the best day for me, since it won't run into Thanksgiving and I'll actually be able to host it all four weeks. (I forgot to account for the fact that I'll be in SF at NaNo headquarters Wed-Sun in the middle of the month).

I'm going to be in that neighborhood this weekend, so I'll probably go talk to the proprietors and ask about Monday availability and how flexible the 10-person limit is. But I bet if we build it, WriMos will come. ^_^

OK, I talked to the Hooked people today, and here are the final details:

DETAILS
------------------------------------------------------------------
Location: Basement room at Hooked On Colfax
3215 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80206
303-398-2665

Day of the week: Mondays (11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 11/24)

Time: 7 - 9 PM
(I only have the space reserved from 7-9, but they are open until 10 and don't mind us lingering until then)

Format: First 30 mins for socializing, then mostly quiet writing time

-------------------------------------------------------------------

OTHER THINGS THAT ARE GOOD TO KNOW

Parking: There shouldn't be too much of a problem finding parallel parking along Colfax on Monday nights. The parking is free and there isn't a time limit after 6 PM.

Cost: Attending this write-in is FREE, but out of courtesy for the establishment, please plan to buy at least one drink. They have all manner of incredibly tasty beverages there. I am already feeling a dependency settling in for their Earl Grey cambric.

WI-FI: Present and free!

You can probably ignore the poll now, but please still post here if you plan on attending so we know who to expect.

Apologies to the folks that couldn't make it on Mondays! Hopefully we will all see you at plenty of other awesome places around town.

I'll come too. I've never been to a write-in. Never had an opportunity. Oh whats a cambric?

Hey Jinggo78! Glad you'll be joining us. Write-ins are my favorite part of NaNo, and hopefully you'll enjoy them, too.

A cambric tea is (at least at Hooked) tea steeped in hot steamed milk. I drink a lot of tea, not being a coffee person, and this is an extra fancy and delicious way to fix it. ^_^

I'll try to come by, but since I don't even get off of class till 7pm and I'm in class or working 9 hours that day, I may just end up being too wiped to make all of them. But I shall give it my all!

I can however say for sure that I will NOT be at the first one by virtue of the fact that my final recital is that Friday and I have a dress rehearsal that evening ^_^.;;

Hi all. I'm a first time nanoer, and a resident of the Cheesman Park neighborhood. I hope you all will forgive me for crashing the party.

Hi all, I'm in Capitol Hill. Second year NaNoer here, but I didn't join in on any groups last year. I'd be interested in going to some of the meetups this time around.

Hi Mark, welcome to NaNoland! Crash all you like--more is definitely merrier where write-ins are concerned.

Bonnie--I hope you'll join us for some camaraderie and delicious caffeinated beverages! Write-ins are probably my favorite part of the NaNo experience.

Music--Sounds good, hope to see you at least one of the weeks!

Only 8 days to go, everyone!

(I am already using up my quota of exclamation points! I am that excited!)

Hey, everyone. Just thought I'd say hello since I live in the Cheesman Park area and that seems to be the area for this thread. (c: I can't make these Monday write-ins (I work Monday nights) but I'm looking for others around here. I just moved to Denver in July and don't know the area too well or many people yet. Is anyone planning other write-ins in this part of Denver?

Hi Crowinator, and welcome to Denver! This is the only Cheesman Park-ish write-in we have planned so far, but you're welcome to start a thread to gauge interest/availability if you want propose another one.

I plan on making the write-ins at Hooked on Colfax, at least they are on my calendar! (Look! Another exclaimation point attack!) I do have a question, what is the nearest cross street for their address? If no one knows, don't worry, I'll call them. Just thought someone might know.

Yay, it'll be good to see you again! It is on Colfax between Steele and Adams, slightly closer to Steele.

Hey, I might be able to come on Monday the 10th. I have class at Auraria until 5:15 and will try to find something to do with myself until the write in starts. Is this place close to the tattered cover on colfax?

I am still trying to pull myself together after returning late last night from San Francisco and the Night of Writing Dangerously, so I won't be at the Monday write-in at Hooked tonight. But we have the space and you should all still go! Also, next week is supposed to be our last write-in at Hooked, but that is the same day as the Colorado write-a-thon. If you guys are planning to go there instead, I'll cancel it for next week. (I will be at the write-a-thon!)

I showed up at Hooked last night and met up with Ellen (I'm pretty sure it was Ellen). It was just the two of us, but I got a decent amount of writing done. I'd wanted to show up for the past two write-ins but I forgot the date on the first one, and last week I was sick.

Next week I'm going to the all-day write-in.

Pardon my ignorance, when/where is the all day write in?
