Hey there, my ducklings! Welcome to another year of NaNo. Those of you who've been around these parts before know who I am. Those who haven't, I'm Stephanie, and i've been ML of the Southwest Florida region since 2005.
Well, this year? I"m only your back up.
The ever delightful Rachel (dreamyraynbo) is stepping into the fore this year and taking charge of the whole kit and caboodle. I'll still be around and will (usually) know what's going on if you've got questions, but she's your go-to gal for all your ML-ing needs.
It's been a delightful run for me here with you guys, but it's time for new, fresh perspectives to take control. especially as I won't be here next year
So. ~chinhands~ Anyone got plot ideas? Genre wishes? Absolutely no freakin' clue?

Ah, NaNoWriMo... it seems like it's been just a year ago.
I've had an idea rumbling around in my brain for a good month now and it's to the point where I've dropped any plans at doing the sequel to last year's story.

Hello.
Well, I'm going to do my best this year, but with several books under contract for next year (and only four of them completed *LOL*) I'm going to be juggling.
Which is my normal status for my WIPs, *LOL* Juggling, that is.
I'm hoping to pull my notes together for another one that I've got planned but haven't started working on yet, a sequel in one of my series.
Busy, busy, busy. *LOL* Well, be careful what you wish for, you might get it. I got it. *LOL* Thank the gods this IS my day job now or I'd never have time. *LOL*
I'm hoping Nano will help me focus. *LOL*

Actually I just realized a week ago that I had yet to revise last years novel and I was about to write a new one. So I'm revising right now, in hopes to submit prior to beginning again. I plan to write another novel in the same fantasy world/ town as my last. I can't decide if I want to write about the past with two of my favorite characters from the last novel, or the future continuing to follow my main character.
I just hope I can get this editing finished and send the first one hurtling off to someone's slush pile with a wish and a prayer before I begin creating my next monster. LOL Still, I'm really excited about November! I hope I can make the write ins with my new job.

Hey there! Been a while.
Oh, you'd be surprise, most of the time I'll hit another idea while trying to develop one out, and before I know it one's booted the other out of my head. It's a pretty sure thing that I won't know what my final idea will be until..... November 30th.

I've been darn busy. It's amazing how quickly a year goes by. At least I'm employed, even if it is Wed. - Sat. and Thrs. - Sat. are 12 hour days, 6a to 6p. I spend a lot of the week tired. Like today, I'm sleep writing this, I really am.
I found a great site though, or at least I've been enjoying it, with a ton of writing advice by a favorite author of mine. A whole bunch of it is free, though some of it's pay but for the work she put into it I think it's worth every penny.
Anyhow, it's good to be back and I'm glad to see familiar faces. I'll get to write ins somehow, but I might end up falling asleep in the middle of them, LOL.

*waves* I CAN'T believe how long it's been! Whoop, whoop! Time for a new novel!!
Now... if I can finish the editing on the last one, I'd been in good shape!
This is Stormy, or Becca from the Dawn & Becca duo. Hi to everyone. *second wave*
I know EXACTLY what I'm writing on this year! *jumps* When I finished rereading my last novel I discovered several, very important things:
1.) I need to have someone smell something at some point.
2.) I need to have a plot that starts at the beginning of the novel, and ENDS where the novel ends. Oops.
3.) I know where I'm going next!
It's really exciting for me. I can't wait. I keep getting all this energy when I think of tackling the next book. Maybe there's something wrong with me?

Yep, there's the paycheck and the occasional downtime to write during, so the benefits are there.
Glad you asked :) The site is www.hollylisle.com I've always loved her books, and she has some new, non-fantasy things available now too. All of her books are great. In my opinion of course. If for some reason you want any of the pay stuff tell me first. I've become an affiliate and I'm taking her Thinking Sideways course (just signed up). We're supposed to get special deals. But I'm not trying to sell anything, because her free stuff is tops and will feed you for a long time in writing advice. ;)
I can't wait to see you again either! I've been thinking of everyone I wrote with last year and how sad I was that I didn't end up following up with all of you. Then I thought, yay I get to see everyone at this years write ins and new people too! I really can't wait.

Eek! You've never read her? Well I found out today that two of her early books are actually legally downloadable (I know it's not a word) on the internet for free. You can find them at http://www.baen.com/library/hlisle.htm. I own them both in print form, so I couldn't believe they are free these days. "Fire in the Mist" is her very first published novel and "Sympathy for the Devil" is a laugh a minute. I remember it being that way anyhow. I haven't read it lately.
Right now I'm all caught up in her romantic suspense novels. I recently finished "I See You" and I'm working on "Last Girl Dancing". Her older books are fantasy, and she still releases fantasy novels, but I've been in the mood for something different and these have fit the ticket.
I do ramble on. Can't wait for November!!!

*jumps around again* I'm holding. Really though, I'm trying to get all my facts completely straight, a hard task for me really, in my first novel so that I can not screw up the second one. I'm planning on making a nice little sheet of words that belong to the world, and then I want to rewrite the little notebook of characters so that it makes better sense. Last novel I just wrote people in where they appeared, and, well..... um that made a mess. *laugh*
I'm trying to be *organized* this time around. *gasp* Did I say that?
And I was going to be typing the whole second novel... was going to borrow my dad's laptop for write ins and such... only now his laptop has died... Looks like I'll be hand writing parts of the novel AGAIN. *looks down at her hand forlornly* Ah callouses, how I've NOT missed you.

Hey, all! This November'll be my sixth NaNo, although I'm not usually too active on the forums. I'll be working in the women's commercial fiction genre this year -- I think of my stuff as chick-lit, but the chick-lit genre's so mired in stereotypes and designer shoes that I've found I get taken a little more seriously when I don't categorize it that way. ;) I've also done paranormal YA, paranormal chick-lit/women's fiction/whatever, and dark urban fantasy. I've been trying to land an agent for years, and I've come closer-than-this several times, but no luck so far. It's a tough business, but at least it's thickened my skin a little.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm trying to be a little more social this year (although between running a small business and writing a NaNo manuscript, I don't know when I'll have time, LOL).

Heeeey. ^^ My name is Brady, this will be my third year attempting Nano. The first year was a poorly planned attempt at fantasy (which I have since started to get into a great, great deal so that'll be next year, hopefully). The second year was a lesbian Romance, that I hit 50k with (!!!!!!), and this year is going to be a Sci-Fi action/war novel with a toss in of romance that will probably go much, much further then just 50k. :)
Here's to hoping!
