Hi All,

This is my first go 'round at this! I only just heard of it less than a year ago and thought it sounded like fun.

Welcome to the insanity!

We have a few Valley people every so often, but not enough for its own region, though. If by the end of this month there aren't a whole lot of Valley peeps, feel free to crash in in either the Pictou or Halifax groups! We love people. Don't we, Caitlin?

We DO love people! We love people a lot! The more people, the more insanity, the more fun, haha.

I'm not from the Valley region, but I'm from Yarmouth. I don't know if there's going to be anyone else from my area either.

I'm from the Greenwood area. :D

This is my first month having a go at this. I'm excited, though I don't think any actual good writing will come from it.

XD True.

I'm anxious for the word counting to start. XD Though I've been doing it on Word (I'm cheating and starting a month early. :D), it'll be awesome to see my word count at the top of the page.

Seriously, you don't have to do that.

I mean, you can try it right now for practice, but you won't need to cheat at all. =) You'll have lots of support, the NS crew is awesome (Tsuki-chan and I have word wars on MSN all the time), and 50k is a lot easier than you might imagine.

Well, I have little experience in writing, and I'm very slow at it (three days and I have about 200 words). Also, I'm a high school senior this year so things are really busy with figuring out college and other stuff. XD;

You still don't need to cheat.

LOL

Because if you do, you're kinda missing the point of NaNo.

And I don't think it's not so much your inexperience writing as it is typing :P

And puh-lease - just HS and figuring out college? You can figure out college after November. And HS? Pfftt.

Give yourself more credit!

True. It's not like my novel writing has gotten very far since I've started. XD Not even 100 words a day.

And some colleges have already closed the deadline for applications, that would allow you to have a seat saved. I'm just glad I'm not aiming for somewhere very popular.

Hey, I'm from the Valley, Wolfville to be more precise. It'll be my first year doing this and I'm already anxious to get going! I feel kind of lonely though since I don't know anyone who's willing to go through with this ;P Even if there is not a whole lot of people from around here participating, I think we should still get together somewhere =] It sounds like fun, but I know I'd never be able to go all the way to Halifax.

If a bunch of you in the Valley realize that you could get together and meet up, I strongly encourage you guys to do so! It's fun! And a great way to meet new people. Weird stuff happens at these meetings.

I'm from Yarmouth, but if anyone wanted to meet in Digby or Annapolis, I'd be willing. (That's about half way to the Kentville/Wolfville/New Minas area.)

I'm by Middleton.

This will be quite the challenge for me as I've never written anything close to 50 000 ever. I suck at plot. :P And I'm not so great at writing stuff that's not fanfic (which I guess will be on hold this month! lol). At least, anything long. With plot. That makes sense and is interesting. lol

And MEET UP?? God! that would take away from my precious writing time! ACK!

Glad to see some valley folk!

Cprav, I'm in Bridgetown. If you wanna stare at each other in the Capitol Lounge or bitch at Tim Horton's about how it's going nowhere, drop me a note.

Snicker Sounds good!

I'll actually be in Chicago for kick off day and flying back on the 2nd.

It will definitely be hard for me to put aside the other muses and concentrate on 'real' writting!

I don't think I will get even close to finishing, but I'm doing this to try and work on creating plots that I can continue for more that 20 000 words and develop my 'real' writing skills - developing original characters and plots

Not from the valley - but hey Sherry in CB - I missed last year and regretted it ever since. This year I'm planning on doing a murder/mystery set on Nova Scotia's south shore! That should help tourism! It worked for Edinburgh thanks to Ian Rankin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can dream,
Cheers
Sue (on the south shore)
