Ok, so the topic line is not the greatest spot of writing, but did it get your attention? If you're reading this, then of course it did.
^_^
I know there were not that many of us last year, but I thought it would be great to have our own forum again this year. So, let's begin with intros:
* PVE or PVP?
* Character names?
* Favorite GW continent?
* Noveling thoughts -- do you have a title, theme, or any other ideas you would like to share about the novel you are wanting to create this year?
-----------------------------------
Alright, so here is my information:
* I mainly play PVE, though I love to AB on occasion.
* Some of my characters include: Silmarwen Calmacil (Ran), Eruve Elanesse (Mes), Sweet Giggle Butt (Mo), Lasanta Banphriona (War), Adh Na (Ele), Elegant Serenity (Der), Elspeth Concannon (Para)
* I do not truly have a favorite continent, but most days I can be found on Elona (Nightfall) or somewhere in Tyria (Prophecies and GWEN).
* As to thoughts about my novel this year... I have nothing... I am drawing a blank!!! Last year I wrote a fantasy-style novel for young children, due in large part to the fact that I wanted to teach my oldest a lesson of sorts about why including her brother in things would be good for everyone. I fear that this year I do not have any sort of motivation other than to simply write. But, as we are only in October, I will count myself lucky just for being here.
Well, that's a bit about me... anyone else?? ^_~

HECK TO THE YEAH!
*PvE - I'm not in a guild to GvG or AB, and I'm not good enough for PvP
*My main character is Lena De Lenaire (M/X) - if I'm not that character, I'm probably goofing off anyway.
*Hmmm... I don't have a favorite continent. I mostly play in GW:EN right now, but just because I haven't had a chance to finish it yet.
*I'm doing a dare novel since I have yet to come up with an idea. It'll have lots of cool tech, though. That's what happens when you read the dares in a programming class.

Hello, fellow Guild Wars addicts. I am a dedicated PvE gamer, so I doubt you will find me at the random arenas anytime soon. The character I'm working on right now is Pararanger Pink, but my main and favorite character will always be my w/mo. She is about 20k points away from maxing the Norn title track. XD
My favorite continents are all of them, including the EOTN areas. I'm usually obsessively farming something, be it title points or gold.
I haven't the faintest clue as to what I'm going to be writing about, but I have all October to come up with something. I won Nanowrimo last year, so I hopefully I'll be ok. :)

Haha, of all the random things to find on this site...
I used to play high rank GvG, but it got old quickly. I'm a PvE-er at heart.
My main character, who has survived from the World Challenge event, through the betas and saved the world four times (definitely ready to retire) is Mark Wolfhunter (Ranger). I also have Tyrianna Wolfhunter (Warrior), Sephy Wolfhunter (Assassin) and Amora Wolfhunter (Dervish).
I guess my favourite overrall continent has to be Elona, but I love the areas of Ascalon and Kaineng City.
Not sure what I'm writing yet, hoping something will come to me soon. Slightly tempted to write a fan-fic based on something in the interrim period between GW and GW2, although they're already writing novels for that.

I play Guild Wars on and off. Just been playing it today actually. I have all the campaigns and EOTN but haven't completed any yet. I switch between PvE and PvP. I'm not brilliant at either but I do like random arenas, even if I do frequently get abused for being rubbish ^_^. My first character is a ranger, Kanya Isalee from Nightfall. I have Jia Nightshade, an assassin from Factions and I went through several character from the original game but ended with The Nicest Thing, a Mesmer. My main PvP character is a Mes/Mo, Must Not Be, though my first major PvP character was a ritualist, Luna Moon Unit. I have no clue what I'm doing in PvP but I just like it for some reason.
As for my novel this year...I have not a clue. I've put off trying to think of a plot, character etc. so I wouldn't get bored of them but I'm just not feeling inspired at the moment. Got a while yet though :D

This reminds me that I still need to load the game onto my computer again... but the updates will kill me XD
Ok, I'm a PvE player who hasn't played in over a year, but if I recall I have a Ranger/Necro and I'm still stuck on the last continent of Prophecies. Unfortunately I was naughty and co-owned an account with my (now) ex (I had no money, and he bought it) and I have no idea if he deleted all my hard work >.<;; I'm going to have to dig it out and find out! If not I have his discs, so I can buy myself an account and... I really don't want to start again XD

WOOT GAMERS! LOL
We have three NaNo'ers here and we all game - MMORPGs (Guild Wars, EVE), tabletop Shadowrun twice a month with a house full of friends here, and two of us are old LARPers (Vamp, Garou, ran the chapters). I will let the guys post their info though so here is mine for now:
...PvE, not much for PvP
...Main character is "Carfindriel Luinese", currently running as Ranger/Nuker (Elementalist), add her and you have the rest :)
...Own all the games, Prophecies through EotN and started as beta
...We are all going back through all the early games and tying up loose ends so where you will find us is completely dependent on our moods. LOL
*Guild Wars is not my first MMORPG as I am a refuge from the original Star Wars Galaxies (read before Sony messed it up). Both the guys played as well but now play Guild Wars and EVE religiously.
My novel? A world of my own completely. I have been working behind the scenes on Odonatia [ www.odonatia.com ] for ten years. It turned novel last year and while it doesn't look like much online (for now muwahahaha) it is about to grow by leaps and bounds. I am working on the Flash intro for the site currently and hope to have that up soon. It is a mystery/thriller and I will be going through an agent to publish.
Great meeting you all!!! See you in game. :) hehe

Since I'm having no luck finding anyone, has anyone here done the Thirsty River mission? I'd love to make a party to get me through that darned mission, since for whatever reason I just can't do it with the henches.Someone took pity on me and got me through. I even managed Dunes of Despair... now I need to find Elona Reach XD
I'm Sitara Lukyan (thats my account [although it all is now mwahaha, he let me have it since he doesn't play. Yay legal gaming XD]).

Yeaaaaah, I'm the one that started the Guild Wars thread last year! Or one of them, at least. There may have been more than one. Hahaha... ANYWAY. This is excellent.
*I'm exclusively a PvE player.
*Member of a very (and I do mean very) small Guild: Team Unfortunate (let's be serious, we really just wanted capes)
*Characters: Initia Ardere (E/Me), Celati Deletrix (A/Rt), Venena Falcis (D/Mo)
*These days, I'm typically found in GW:EN, mainly because I want to finish before GW2. I know, I know, it could still be awhile... but I want to get to the end of the story!
*Noveling thoughts: I've got a basic outline at this point, but... hey, it's only early October!
Lol. Feel free to look me up sometime when you're playing, I'd love to group and head out on some random quest. I'll look around for others too! :D
(On that note, did anyone else get to PAX this year and visit the GW booth? If so, you probably beat me in a Rollerbeetle Race at some point. Hahaha.)

Lol! I'm currently capeless, but that comes with getting kicked out of guilds for inactivity! I have a habit of playing obsessively for a month and then not playing for about 4...
I'm also pretty frustrated. The person I was trying to do a mission with (I'm back in the ShiverPeaks... darned snow!) got kicked off the server somehow and I was doing fine until I took a wrong turn about 5 mins from the end of the mission and got ambushed and slaughtered. The little red dots were hidden until I turned the corner and then they saw me. Biiiig group of Mursaat elementalists slaughtered me *sighs*

OMG, that's totally me... and my brother... which is why we're a Guild that really just cares about capes. Oh, and the Guild Hall. We got that too, and we plan to go there to set off fireworks from the previous New Year's festival in Cantha sometime soon... however, life is busy and I'm in the midst of a spell of 'non-obsessive' playing at the moment... hahaha.
I think I once went for 6 months without logging in, and then played for a week straight and didn't get any work done. Being self-employed, this is not a good thing. LOL.

Lol! Well I'm currently unemployed so running around like a lunatic slaughtering things is the perfect distraction from starting NaNo 3 weeks early...
Oh and someone randomly added me to their guild. I asked if he knew me and he didn't which amused and bewildered me. Gandalf the Grey... so far I've only seen 2 other people than me online and none of them talk to each other... I might leave it because I don't like the cape either XD I want something pretty, awe-inspiring or scary... not a golden helmet oO

Hey everyone! It's awesome to see some GW NaNo'ers!
~I have never actually done PvP because I'm really not that great at GW...I just love to play it with my friends. :)
~Characters: Sepheria Loire (necro), Sion Loire (necro), Deity of Souls (rit)
~Ummm I only have Cantha and Tyria, but so far I still love pre-tyria the best. :) It's just so pretty...damn charr.
~Novel this year? Hm. This is my first NaNo so I have no idea! I love to write and have been since I was little, but have yet to finish anything. That's not too helpful since the goal in NaNo is to get to 50k...but....hey~! I'm gonna try!
I love to meet new people, so if you want, send me message in GW or on here! ^_^ Looking forward to meeting some more awesome GW'ing NaNo'ers. :-)

xD I was the same way - it took me 2 years to finish Prophecies! And I only finished because my father did them with me - he plays obsessively, and is scary good. He's one of those super rich players, to the point that he bought all the campaigns a second time so he'd have a second Xunlai Chest, because he needed the money room. *rolls eyes*
But, yeah, he had left me to do Prophecies and Factions on my own, so I took almost 2 years on both of them. Nightfall, he made me party with him from the start, and we were done in 2 days. xD
And I have yet to finish GW:EN. I just can't get through it. I've finished the Norn side, and I'm working on the Asuran side now.

I have all campaigns and things but I never seemed to fit into a guild after my main one died so long ago when the 1/2 went off to battlefield (which I'm thinking of doing now!) I find it a bit boring. I want to do highend pve but that never happens and pvp is too elitist to get into so I'm thinking of giving it up.
Anyone wants to msg me ad Kyso No Oni (asn).

Lol! A friend's dad was like that with an online real-time game. He was so fricking good but he was obsessed. He got into the top 100, and then the top 50 after starting around the 10k place. His wife made him quit because he would play almost 24/7!
Me, I take forever to do nothing. I've not got all of Grint's missions to do, and luckily I finished the first in the Shiverpeaks today woth just henches (no one in the area online lol) even though I was told it could never work that way. Unfortunately i'm gonna need real people for the Ascalon one, the hences won't cut it at level 8 against level 24s!
Money wise I'm not doing bad, I have 36 platinum, almost 37, on my main account, and none in my chest since I don't play any other characters. I'm trying to justify buying the expansions... I know I'll buy them one at a time but take just as long to finish them anyway XD
Edit:
So, I'm doing Glint's Titan quests, and I'm at the Frontier Gate looking for people to join my party. The first person seems nice enough and I join her. She grabs a warrior player and her monk hero and off we go. No luck. They won't let me lure - just run at them and attack. This goes on for HALF AN HOUR before I decide to give up - and then they finally get what I'm saying. So we go for it one last time, and the necro starts using her ressurecting skills thankfully. We kill one Titan. The next comes and stands on me (they have a habit of doing that...) and they flake and BAM. Dead. They luckily left to do other things after that anyway.
I start asking again, and I get a whisper from a guy saying something random about a skill. So I engage in trying to talk to him before he announces "I have no room in my party for a worthless class", that there was no point in me playing and left. I'm left sat here going "WTF?!"
I then end up talking with everyone online about it because I've never encountered anyone so nasty on GW. We agree that Rangers are one of the most useful classes, and then got into a conversation about the lack of appreciation for monks. About five minutes later the rude sod turns up again and says he'll take me, asking if he should get the mission. I sit blinking wondering why he keeps doing it without actually getting it from Glint (the answer is that the last guy paid him 2.5k gold for it...) He then decides that 20k exp isn't worth it because you get no gold from it.
Against my better judgement I let him take me. First group of level 24 charr and all is going well until one of his heros died. Then he resigned and kept yelling "resign!" at me (in varying ways: "resign", "RESIGN!" "Gods sake resign!!" and so on). Because he was too busy telling me to resign, I died and then he died. I went back to the Gate and vowed to never go near such an ass again. If he'd stopped yelling at me and just fought like I was trying to all would have been well.
His name was "Zero [something I can't recall]". He's an A / D. Watch out for him - he's rude, money hungry and all in all a pretty naff player XD I'll wait until someone worth spending my time with turns up.
Oh, and a final thing. Am I the ONLY person who carrys a res signet?! Is it so much to ask that everyone gives up 1 slot so that they can keep the party alive? I can only resurrect your worthless (well it was today anyway) monk hero once! And if I've died first a fat lot of good it is!
Sorry, bad hour session makes a grumpy ranger!

Yar.
PvE; one reason I prefer GW is because I can play and not be bothered by other people if I don't want to be. I've had some amazingly bad experiences with pick-up groups in other MMORPGs, and the whole Hero/Henchman thing in GW is awesome for me.
Kassil Roshah or Khirsah Roshah should generally work with me.
I don't really have a favorite continent; I kind of noodle around all over the place, doing missions here and there and slowly working on my one-man-guild guild hall.
I am writing a steampunk novel this year, in a very strange world that has been described as "Mad science, deadly magic, weird races, lost gods, and Things Lovecraftian, all mixed well and served over a Generic Fantasy World".

*laughs* I wish there was a "/slap" function so if someone offends you, you can whack 'em. After all its a game about killing things, so slapping offensive people shouldn't be too much of a both XD
You could have /slap or /slap fish (slap them with a big fish) or even /stab spork and you impale them with a mighty spork *nods* It would be satisfying!

I actually haven't finished any campaign yet; I kind of noodle around slowly through them all. My farthest-along effort is in Prophecies, where I can be found cursing the Ascension quests in all manner of ways due to the named mobs and timed quests, and my trip through Cantha is the least advanced, because I am suspicious of the cooperative missions.

I haven't played GW for quite some time now, but now I'm thinking of a new attempt. After all, I'd like to finish Prophecies at least (never got quite far in Nightfall, and I do not own Factions). My main char is a Necro by the name of Pyr Traviata, who, as far as I remember, is two or three missions short of Ascension.
Hmm... Favourite continent? I like the diversity of Tyria, but I haven't seen much of Elona yet.
My computer is pretty much garbage, so I never took the effort to engage in PVP - well, except for one day of snowball fight during the winter event, which was kind of fun but caused huge lag.
My novel this year is going to be lots of shameless padding and will contain parts of my other works for some extra word count. Actually, the novel mainly consists of various people writing their own novels. I admit, I'm not really excited or inspired for NaNo this year, but I didn't want to take a break in 2008 either.

* PVE I love it i have 10 lvl 20 characters, all with an Elite set of armor, except my ele she has 3 god damn I spoil her I cant contain myself, I also have a lvl 14 Ranger in pre-searing, I have completed all the games, takes a week for me to go from start to finish in all of them with my ele now (managed to complete EotN in a day, Faction the next, Nightfall two days later and Proph took the last 3.)
* Character names: just add my ele "Athenes Word" cause she is 1337
* Favorite GW continent: That would have to be Cantha cause it has made me rich, got the money for 8 of my elite armor sets.
* Noveling thoughts -- got a sort of idea, i know there are elves and another deminsion and have a few character sheets written up but hey its only October
Msg me ingame if ya need help with anything wether it be quests, missions or just for a guild invite (cape aint great, hall aint full, but we do have a teamspeak server so we can actually talk without typing) If ya need help farming to I have a build for every proffesion except Paragon cause they are not 1337 enough.
Oh and before anyone asks yes I have 11 Character slots I brought more cause I am sads and have no life :P
And for those that don't know an Elite set of armor cost 15k a peice, the only thing different about it is how it looks.

* PvP! PvE gets boring after a while, though I'm convincable to play it.
* Elyria Sedai is who I PvP with (yes, WoT fan), Ashamael Zhalfrin is PvE, both eles, because they are the 1337est class.
* The Battle Isles! Prophecies was the coolest, though it might be just nostalgia.
* Writing a second draft of last years novel, but believe me, it will be different. Same world and characters and goal, but totally different plot. Without going into it, it's typical fantasy, though I plan on exploring how magic would change a medieval society. And it has a way cool magic system (not mutating halfway through like last time!)

Yay GW.
* Mostly PvE, though I have been known to RA a bit.
* Not telling, though you'd probably be able to find it pretty easily. ^^
* It's a toss up between Tyria and Elona
* It's based on a videogame (not GW), will be in-character, and it's probably going to be a lot less depressing than my other NaNo attempt.

* PVE or PVP? - Both, though I'll almost always choose the latter over the former.
* Character names? - Xei Win Toh is the name I prefer people knowing me by.
* Favorite GW continent? - The Battle Isles! :P If you mean PvE only, I'd have to say Tyria since the old areas have a certain charm in that they are so much less cramped than Factions/NF areas, and the continent also has the very rewarding EotN areas.
* Noveling thoughts -- do you have a title, theme, or any other ideas you would like to share about the novel you are wanting to create this year? - Oh goodness, I have absolutely NO CLUE so far.

oct. 27, 2008 - 11 02
Yay, more GW fans!
* PVE or PVP? PvE, of course! I do Zaishen Elite some times, but I'm terrible at RA and TA.
* Character names? My good old Prophecies character, Evey Greene (E/Me, but sometimes I get bored and switch to E/R) - I'll usually be playing her.
* Favorite GW continent? Tyria, of course, just because it's so big and varied...I love the Shiverpeaks and Kryta, as my favorite regions to explore.
* Noveling thoughts -- do you have a title, theme, or any other ideas you would like to share about the novel you are wanting to create this year? Involves death, archers, and fairies. That's about it.
A question for you guys - when GW2 comes out, will you all drop GW for it? I'm not so sure about GW2 (I don't have EotN, that might change me), just because I love GW so much -- I've got all the campaigns and unlocked nearly every hero in the game. So, will it just be me playing GW1 with some henchmen, or will someone stay and play GW?
And hey, if anyone needs help with a mission in Prophecies, I'm always willing to help you with it. :) Just find Evey Greene somewhere.

Is anyone up for Defend Droknars Forge? I cannot find a group for the life of me. Tell me your from NaNo and I'd love to do that with you. :)
