I missed last year's kickoff, but I've been to Woody's (albeit a different location) before and wouldn't mind going again. :)

Woody's Pizza is actually a chain. :) The first one I ever went to was the one in Fort Collins.

I chimed in on this last night, but yay, I'm so up for meeting at Woody's again! (And I'll bring my guitar, too, since I missed getting to do that at the TGIO party last year. Assuming it doesn't get stolen this year, anyway!)

lol

Hence Preliminary. :) This is just an early meet and greet we do every year. The original intent was to get swag out to as many as possible....this hasn't happened in recent years.

But it should this year...SWAG is in the mail as we speak.

All events are optional but feel free to come and meet folks!

I will be there, though I can't stay *too* late; I have somewhere to be at 6:30, and it's in downtown-proper. Even if there's no SWAG involved, I'd love to see everyone and catch up since last year, especially since it doesn't look like I'll be making many of the meet-ups during November. =( Stupid work schedule... *walks off muttering*

Oh, PS spleen, I don't think you're geeky, for the record. I'm just a little slow with abbreviations. You were actually the second person in about a twenty-four hour period to use that term, which is why I was curious. Thanks for the translation!

What does public transportation look like in that area? Light rail within walking distance? Bus line?

DaNoodleBox, public transpo is a definite possibility...if you can just get to the Colorado Center light rail and RTD stop, catch the 21 bus headed east and there's a stop within about a block of Woody's. Woody's is right where Evans turns into Iliff and I think the nearest major intersection is with Quebec, if that helps.

Or, if any of you public transpo people would like, if you all meet at the Colorado station about 15 minutes beforehand, I can pick you guys up and we can carpool from there. I live across the street, after all! ^_^. (Also, DaNoodleBox, if you prefer public transpo, you can just get off at this same station for the Perkins meets...just head towards Colorado Blvd on the side with the movie theater on it, not the parking lot, and you'll see it literally on the other side of Colorado Blvd on the corner.)

*Sigh* Last-minute withdrawal for me because my recital DOES NOT WANT TO HAPPEN WITHOUT EVERYTHING POSSIBLE GOING WRONG FIRST. *Dies* The latest mishap is my accompanist cancelling out on the original first rehearsal in the hall, which means I had to frantically reschedule for a different time and of COURSE the only time that worked for everyone when the hall is available is this Sunday at 2pm. I'll try to make it afterwards, but since the earliest I'd be getting there would be 4:30 (since the rehearsal should take two hours or so)...don't count on it.

I promise I won't back out of the other kickoff party, though! (I kind of have to stick it out, since it's at my place...)

Asoenix, I didn't make the reservations, but last time we had a whole room to ourselves, so I'm sure we can squeeze you in. Looking forward to meeting you!

Jinggo78, it has a parking lot that I remember as being a pretty decent size, and I don't think there will be too much competition for spots @ 3PM, other novelists aside. ^_^ Hope you can make it!
