I'm part of the older guard, i guess, I've been doing NaNo for a few years, always in Charlotte. We'll definitely get to connecting before November!

Hi, I'm sorta half in and half out of this region because I go to college in another city, but I will come home for Thanksgiving break, so I usually try to attend one meeting here.

My big question is, for those veterans out there, which of you is going to be our ML this year? It seems that BJ isn't listed as our ML anymore. :(

I'm also away for schooling in another city (go Elon!). This is my third year NaNo-ing.

I emailed them back in September about that, but have received no answer. I offered to take up the ML reins if BJ and Joe weren't going to be ML this year but I've heard nothing official back from them. Hopefully we'll know soon!

This is my first year participating in NaNo as well. I'm actually in Salisbury, but the Charlotte group was the closest one. I'd like to try to come to one of the meetings if I have time off of work and am not too busy with my class work. :D

Hey! I call Charlotte "home" but I'm living in France for a couple of years. But I'll still be Nano-ing and using both forums (Charlotte and France) to keep me awake and focused. Good to see a few familiar names.

A Nanowrimo veteran here - 5 years running, won 2, going for a 3rd win. Local to Charlotte.

Good luck to all the newbies out there - there are probably a millions recommendations on how to make it through the month, so if you have questions just ask...

I CAN NOT, and will not ML this year.
However, I have a ton of things already put together for whoever wants to ML
I also have already sent the NaNo info to all the local TV stations, newspapers etc.

OMG, I was SO SCARED you were gonna pull a BJ and try to ML (oh, everyone knows what an insatiable workaholic you are *wink*)... I'm so glad you're just going to write and enjoy those new bundles of preciousness... Let someone else do the work this year!

I mean, *cough* it can't be *cough* me this year... SINCE I'M STUCK IN FRANCE!!!!! But good luck to whomever takes those big thick reins. BJ, you've sort of set the bar kinda high.

Well, I'll be gabbin' with yas and will be with yas in spirit since I can't be there in bod.

Oh, and cross those fingers that the agent picks me up.

Congratulations! Twins? Wow!

Meglimir and I are back home in Richmond. She finished her gig in Charlotte and came home. It looks like I might be hosting some Write-Ins up here in Richmond this year. After seeing you guys do them, it looked like a lot of fun, so I thought I'd try it out.

Unfortunately, Meg's cancer started to grow again, so she's a little too busy to write this year along with everything else she does. She had a rough time with the last chemo she was taking earlier this year. We're hoping the new mix of chemos are less destructive of her body and more concentrated on the cancer. We're praying.

My older son, Grendies, is in his third year of college with straight "A's" (rather proud papa here) and has himself rather buried in school work. So he's probably not attempting NaNo this year.

As far as the rest of us here in my family (14yr old son Ratlan, 23yr old Godson Jon, and myself - ageless SammyD), we're diving in on November first and typing life into our novels.

We'll miss you guys, but I'll be checking up on all of you, here on the NaNoWriMo website.

Keep in touch, and don't forget to write. ;-)

I am back for another year(can't remember how many times I've done this to myself). Haven't won yet. I said YET! I'm not giving up!

My daughter is also attempting again. I believe this is her third year. Now I feel really old!

Hoping to make the kick off party and perhaps a few write-ins.

BJ - Congrats! Hope you'll bring the bundles of joy to show off. Of course, we'll completely understand if you don't want to expose them to the crazy writer peoples at such a tender age! ;)

Everyone - Good luck!

I enjoy making you feel old, mom. It's fun.

Ed from Matthews here. I got talked into this on Oct 31st, but decided to give it a try. I started writing, then went back and did an outline on day 2. I am caught up on word count (assuming 50000/30). So far so good!

I'm also caught up in word count. I work a couple of jobs so I've been telling myself I'll catch up on Wednesday. Well, it's wednesday... So far, I've solved puzzles on conceptis.com, browsed the politcal stuff since election results are mostly in, eaten breakfast with dd (the ideal child), fed the dog, started the laundry, read tons of stuff on the Nano forums - and written 200 words.

Guess I better go - I need to put the clothes in the dryer. I mean, write. Yeah. That's what I'll do. Just as soon as I get back from the grocery store...
