Hendersonville Novel Planning Party

Weekends are better for me.

The Hendo public library has been my inspiration many, many times in the past, attending one of the open mic nights, when Restrict This played.
We could maybe do that.

Or Jackson Park?

This sounds like fun, though.

Doesn't the library close at like 12pm on weekends? What about Cuppy's Coffee? It's actually inside Ace Hardware right off Spartanburg Hwy. There is a lot of space to sit.

i'll throw in a few votes.

1. Yeah, the library would be awesome. It closes at 6 on friday, Saturday and sunday, but any other day, 9. I'd be good for any day after school, but i'd prefer a saturday.
last time i checked, they'd removed the concerts and a petition was circulating.

2. the living room cafe. it's right next to Lazy Moon on main street, across from Mast General. imho it has the best coffee around, plus, if others are bringing laptops, free wifi. also, more privacy and ability to talk than the library. not open on mondays, but any other day it's till 6.

3. i'll second jackson park, as long as it doesn't get too much colder before then...

so any ideas yet on when? i've got a few buddies who haven't bothered to start haunting the forums yet, so i'll forward the information on to them and encourage them to come put their two cents' in.

I'm cool with almost anywhere, except I know that when/if we do meet-ups on weekdays, I can't do anything until after 6pm since I work till then. Saturdays, I can always do something after 12 or 1pm since I work on most Saturdays, but not all. I'm definitely planning on heading into AVL as much as possible, but I'd love if we could get a regular thing going in HVL.

talked to a few people.
saturdays would be good for one of my friends, or after school. she doesn't work, so any time is cool.
another friend works nights, so being able to do this early saturday afternoons would be the best for him. he has to be at work at 4 most days. his mother also does nano and has the same work schedule.

OH MAN.
I love the Living Room; it's very inspiring.

I think that would be AMAZING for a meeting.
The coffee's great, they have awesome sandwiches, and I used to go there all the time with my friend when we were galavanting around Main.

Saturday seems to be perfect, though.

I just wanted to let ya'll know that I won't be attending your planning party but I'm excited to see there are so many of you getting together down in H-ville! Let us know how it goes!

starmocker is my bestest buddy... anyway, i wanted to do this but i didn't really want to bother her about it becasue at times, as much as i love her, she can be very in your face about things that she loves. so i was gonna do it and back off of telling her. but, she has found out. much love dear. anyway, i would deffinitely agree with the living room because they have amazing coffee, and it's not too expensive either. it also has wifi, and is like a zillion times better than black-bear. *bleh* i don't usually work on saturdays... but anytime before four on the weekends is good though, cuz some saturdays i actually work and it's either four or five that that happens. and i always work on sundays. blue ridge mall if we're desperate... same with arby's. they both have wifi.

reason against jackson park: i'm winy and it's going to get cold soon.
reason against library: it's so quiet, and people will complain about us talking.

other than that... there's not many places in hendo... >_>

It's so exciting to see how many people there are in Hendersonville doing this challenge!

I won't be able to participate in the planning with others, but I hope you all have fun.

I am having to do my planning in my spare time (i.e. when my daughter is napping), so I am using a challenge on Writing.com.

Maybe next year I'll have more time to get out and meet with others for October. I would love to meet other Hendersonville Writers!

The Living Room sounds like a fun place! I look forward to checking it out. :)

i throw in my vote for saturday the 18th at, at 1:00 or 2:00, depending on everyone's work schedules. nobody seems to be going to work that early, but i wanted to make sure everyone could get there in time :)

i know some people have work in the afternoon, so i wanted to keep it from being too late.

my friend anthony will be working in the afternoon, but otherwise will be fine. his mother works alternating mornings and afternoons, so i don't know yet if she can come.

my buddy lily says that's fine with her, she's shopping in the morning but will be back by then.

la_vida_contiuar says that's also fine with her; she goes to work at 4.

i have no life and no job, so any time is fine with me. :)

anyone else totally wishing it was closer to november?

That sounds fine for me, especially since I work in HVL and can just head over after work. :)

so the living room, saturday the 18th, at 1:00. that seems to be okay for everyone.

nobody needs directions to the living room, do they?

it's on the end of main street, under the Arts Council and next to the Lazy Moon.

Yay!

I'm thinking there will be about 7 or 8 people, all total.
