Hiya! I'm Lisa, the Olympia co-ML, and you can count on me being around. :) I've just finished setting up the shiny new forum header and event calendar too, so you have good timing. Hopefully the site stays up while others wander in.

Hey everyone! Well the rains setting in on Olympia which can mean only one thing: NaNoWriMo is almost here! This will be my first attempt at the 50k marker...and I believe my roommate is participating as well.

Woot! I've been waiting for this all year, in the 'deargodit'llnevergethere--holycrapit'sactuallyherenow' kind of way.

My outline's only a little bit done, but I'm going to hopefully get more done before November.

It also helps that I have two friends promising Pizza and Ice Cream dates every 20k words, and I get dinner and drinks from my mom's coworker if I make it all the way to 50. So bring on the words!

Oh! And we're so going to beat Portland this year!

*waves* Hullo! You know, I actually had a topic up before the forums went splat on the first. Incidentally, this is the first year I've actually been present for/affected by the forum crash at the beginning of October. My sister and I were all "DD: NaNo~~~!" while they were down. Hehe.

I've actually been working on my plot and outline since July - it bited me early this year. >:D

It's great to see so many people checking in already!
In the past, it's actually been Salem, OR that we've competed against in word wars and I'm sad to say that last year we did in fact win the "hubcap of shame." This year, assuming they're up to defending their championship, I say we rally the troops and send that hubcap back south!

I don't get anything as a prize for winning except knowing that I did something for myself. I've got a perfect idea for a story and can't wait to get to writing it. I've been waiting for months to do this. And it's almost here! I've also in fact figured out how many words per day you'll need to do to reach your goal by the end of November: 1,666 words, approximately. So figure in about 2k words per day which is I think about 4-5 pages in word doc on Times New Roman 12 size font. I hope to make it to 50k but I'm not sure I will. No matter how far I get though, I wont be upset as long as I tried and got something done. (:

Late but here. Hi!!!

It's my third year, and unfortunately I start a night job on Nov. 3rd, so I may not make it to many gatherings, but I'll be there in spirit!

hi all, happy 10 years of nano all around! i cant wait to meet a bunch of you in the upcoming month. november is usually a super busy month for me but i'm hoping now that i'm in college things will be slightly less hectic and i'll be able to put in a decent showing this yr. plus, i figure, even when i'm working i should be able to get some work done this yr--the perks of working at a wifi enabled coffee shop ;)

Hi, I'm Katie! Finally decided that I wanted to do NaNo this year, after all. Not sure AT ALL if I'll have the time, but that's what makes this fun, right? :)
