It's almost that time of year again!

If you've got any suggestions for the dares list, feel free to add them here.

For my part, I'll throw in one I found on a piece of notepaper from last year: Two bottles, two squids: one per bottle.

I guess I better suggest this before someone else does.

Have kittens, or something kitten related.

Better yet include the "Every time you kill a kitten, God..." quote.

For bonus points include a character called Beth getting beaten with a stick... *grumble*

What about having a minor character of NO SIGNIFICANCE who is introduced and re-introduced every four chapters but does NOTHING.

I think that might sum up last year's plot, for me. >_>

Oh, I almost forgot - the tentacle monster dare.

Having a tentacle monster appear somewhere in your NaNo, with bonus points if it's the hentai-anime kind that molests random people. Added bonus points if it's shunned by others of its own kind for its deviant behaviour...

As far as the tentical monster goes, I think it would be more fun to have a tentical monster that was 'supposed' to molest people, but is trying to control his inner molester! a wannabe 'intellectual' who doesn't want to give in to his primal urges every time he sees a human female walk past!

Include a pub - or café, hotel, restaurant; let your imagination run free - called the "Ferret and Unicorn" (or "Unicorn and Ferret").

Not the flippin' ferrets again.

You know, so far I could probably fit most of those in without even bending what's going to pass for plot...

I could probably fit the pub in, but I'm not sure about the others...they would make my story pretty obscure...though it wouldn't be the first time I've written an obscure story. Thinking of obscure...

Have a person that's been dead twenty years appear in living, breathing human form for just twenty four hours, and be romantically involved with the main character.

The sad thing is, I could ALSO fit all of these dares in without even breaking a sweat. XD

Include an extensive dream sequence featuring the terrifying crucifixion of a chip.

Hell yeah. See what I did there? :)

If my story wasn't so serious I would definitely include that one! Hm, maybe next year...though humour isn't my forté. That was a pretty crazy meet. Pity they nicked off with the ketchup before we could use it...I think they're getting wise to our antics.

I think I'll incorporate Christina_chavia and kinkajou's suggestions. The completely inactive character (which I assume is also a non-communicative one) sounds like a hilarious addition to the story. I have an idea for a subtle and fairly restricted form of creature summoning that would suit a secondary character in my novel perfectly (even though before this morning I didn't even think my novel's scenario would have magic - and yes, the summoning I have in mind invokes magic).

I've thought up of a dare to leave you:

The novel includes the line/phrase: "Saving the world in beige slippers"
Bonus Point if the character this refers to is not the MC
Triple Point if at least one other design of slippers features in the novel (however passing a reference)
Quadruple Points if the slippers have a significant role to play in the novel

I do like the slipper dare and now I’ve written out the plot I’m looking at which other dares I can fit in. None of the really crazy ones mind you, as I’m trying to write something slightly sensible.

Same here; I'm not sure how many dares I can fit, as my "plot"'s pretty serious too. I may be able to find places for one or two, though...

I think I could fit in most of them this year, actually. :B I'll try my best! I was going to say "all I need now is a working title" and then I remembered I already have one - and the novel idea actually came from coming up with that title... Way to go me. >_<

Ferrets! Ferrets! Ferrets! Ferrets! Ferrets! Ferrets! Ferrets! Ferrets!

There must be ferret dares!

I dare everyone to include a different ferret character in every chapter!

Good Luck!

If I don't see the word "antidisestablishmentarianism" in at least three novels, I'll... I'll... [goes red in the face]
