So, there are going to be things us ML-types are going to give out at the KOP but there are also things you will need/want for November that you can download and use or print-off yourselves :)

First off... the one you've all been waiting for!

This years NaNoWriMo Report Card!!. This one is even more in-depth and helps you keep track of a lot more things.
This link was pilfered from TruckPoetry.net so go check it out for things like Character Creators and Plot Outline helpers :)

Don't want to be disturbed while writing? Whack a Door Hanger on your door to let potential disturbers of the peace know you mean business.

Book Title Generator is a good place to start if you are currently 'untitled'.

Now 2 of these are tech related and not really 'goodies' but stay tuned for a few more things being added here :)

Thank you sooooo much for the goodies! I have spent the last 24 hours (inbetween feeding babies, cooking meals, playing with my boys, doing a mountain of washing and reading bedtime stories) using the plot outline helper from Truck Poetry. It has just crystalised where I'm headed and made me realise why I've actually never been able to finish a novel before. And i love, love, love my characters! I also got some really good ideas about character development from a blog by author Kaye Dacus - you can find her at http://kayedacus.com - just go to the writing series index at the top and look for her character development stuff.

I'm now just hanging out for Nov 1 to arrive...in the meantime, I'm going to be spending some one-on-one time with my characters!

Those doorhangers are sucha cool idea!

i think I'll just have to make my own because I'm pregnant which mean no caffeine for me this year!

i honestly have no idea what the hell I'm supposed to do... I'm so sick of fanta, and it's too hot for hot chocolates. My door hanger will prolly say, "Enter at own risk, unless bearing wonderful non-caffeine + non-alcoholic beverages"

:( Mos of my nano last year was written with me being a little intoxicated. It worked really well for the thing I was going for!

I suggest learn to take power naps :) They can easily extend your total waking time if taken regularly and kept short (approx 20 minutes).

The most cooling yet invigorating drink that I've ever discovered is good quality lime cordial (the translucent yellow, not the bright green) made with chilled, unflavoured mineral water. Semi-good for you - vitamins and minerals, at least a few thereof - AND cheap enough that you can drink it by the litre. Nothing tastes better on a hot day, especially if you have it in an insulated cup so it stays cool.

i love the report card

as for drinks, http://www.alchemycordial.com.au/ - its supposed to be available in woolworths in large areas, we cant find it here but you might be able to get hold of it closer to the city. theyre beautiful, with less sugar. again, made up with chilled mineral water, if lime annoys you lol.

the heat one is... weird.

Omg koibittomegami! That'd be so awesome! I dont know what you should write. Somethign about me being pregnant because I use it as an excuse for EVERYTHING and my housemates have caught on and tease me about it.

So somethign like, "DO NOT ENTER... because I'm pregnant"

lol

And that lime cordial stuff sounds delicious. I've had the lemony version ((does it come in glass bottles?)) and its just brilliant.

I'd completely forgotten about cordial!

Yep, it's the stuff in glass bottles! It's tasty, not nearly as bad for you as the cheap stuff, prevents scurvy, and is really satisfyingly thirst-quenching on a hot day. And when the bottles are empty, they're quite good for filling with plain water and stashing back in the fridge - they take up much less room than a jug, and the glass makes the water seem colder.

And abba12 is right - the Alchemy cordials are great too. I adore the 'Love' one, though I haven't had it in ages. NaNoTreat! Rosewater is a love-it-or-hate-it thing, though.

If you're feeling the need to mark out your space with lots of warnings, try this!

http://www.warningsigngenerator.com/

I may well end up with a 'novelist at work, only enter if bearing caffeine' poster on my door. ;)

Adopt-A-Muse has arrived in Brisbane!

I stole this idea from another ML in a different region but took it upon myself to do proper certificates up for it and specify some REAL muses we can all relate to :)

Click 'save as', download, print off and sign! The muses, being kind and trusting souls, have already signed off their part (well, those who CAN anyway) so all you need is to sign it yourself and find a witness to sign for you.

For the Horror/Thriller Writers

For the Gore/Bloody/Rampaging Killing Writers

For the Writers that just want to write... no matter what it is

For the Writers with Kick-ass Chicks, Guns, Explosions and stunts in their novels

For the Sci-Fi Writers

For the Writers of Purple-Prose and/or Seduction and Romance

For the Goofs and Comedians amongst us

If you have another genre that I haven't listed - lemme know ;) I'll make some more up.

I love these! Especially the evil-plot-bunny.

Um. I am going to suggest an evil-grammar-goblin--especially as the one in me starting poking at the beleif vs belief in the contracts.

I'll, um, I'll hide now.

(then I'll go do a proper introduction post)

Noooo no no nooooooo! He's a relative of the inner-editor. He'll make you focus on how you're writing (inner-editor focusses on WHAT you're writing). As long as you write in November it doesn't matter. Fixing grammar is what we using NaNoEdMo for ;)
