Greetings to WRwrimos, members of the New Castle County, Delaware-based writing group, Written Remains and to our friends.

If you aren't a member of Written Remains, welcome anyway! Please hang around and chat with us! Maybe even join us--You don't need to belong to our writing group to be a WRwrimo. Well, not as far as I'm concerned. ;-P.

Oh. I'm SherryT. I participated in NaNos 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and won each year:
"Life Tides", "Marooned", "The Gryphon and the Basilisk vol.3" and "The Peace Bride".

Last year, I was kind of busy revising my YA fantasy novel, "Seabird", for publication so I didn't participate though I had a great idea that would have been titled "The Memory Well".

Our Fearless Leader, Joanne Reinbold, insisted that I should lead Team WRwrimo through the coming NaNo, because of my previous experience. Ack! I don't know that writing really bad narrative non-stop for 30 days qualifies anyone to do much of anything!

So what about you?

What are you planning to write? Genre? Title?

Where and when (what time of day) are you planning to write?

How are you preparing?
(Some perverse part of me says we should all be writing ersatz 1,667 word short stories every day this month.)

Does anyone have any idea for our kick-off ceremony?

How can we persuade a local bookstore like Borders to host our first annual and likely to be infamous WRwrimo Write-In?

How should we celebrate when we all cross the finish line with 50,000 plus words?

Is anyone else besides me having trouble migrating a NaNoWriMo word-o-meter to their webpage or blog?

Speaking of blogs, please check out mine "Scribblings" at http://tree-lady.livejournal.com/

I invite anyone reading to join our ongoing conversation about writing at:

Writing, My Way #2 (Characters, pt.a)

Finally, please pass on the URLs for NaNo and for this page to others in the state! Cajole, plead, threaten, make false promises--and otherwise act like political candidates--to join us in the Delaware NaNo dash to the finish line!

Good luck, intrepid Delawarian NaNos (if that's the right term)!

Since this is my first NaNo and I don't really know any of my fellow Northwest Florida writers, I can make outlandish claims about how we'll reign supreme in this year's NaNo.

About 6 weeks from now, I'll be blubbering like a baby, shorting out my laptop keyboard, as tears roll down my face and I wail, "Fifty thousand words? What was I thinking?"

Hey, Sherry!

Just a quick sign in here to say, "Hey!" I'll be back shortly to answer some of your "get to know WRwrimos" questions. I'll be posting some of my own preps and planning strategies for NaNo on my LJ blog and will post over here, too.

Hey there! I'll have to come back to answering alot of your questions at a later time - but I need to think on them a bit.

If you post dates & times for your planned meetings, I'll post them on the calender we have set up (see the link on the top of the forum list page).
