So as my speciality is in Graphic Design and illustration, I was wondering if anyone else had come up with a book cover for their NaNoWriMo this year? Perhaps you just had an idea for one or maybe you've just slapped text across pictures you googled. (Awesome and laziest idea by the way....or so my brother reckons.)

Why yes it was made with a mouse becasue my vista hates me and that's what my drawing tablet is hooked up too. Anatomy is very wrong and my aim was too make it as slap dashed as possible as that's what WriMo is all about. ^^ (at least I'm trying to convince myself that. XD)

Hey, it's better than anything I can do with a mouse.
Mine's just the result of mucking about with GIMP's various effects over an old Inkscape image (it makes sense, it's the emblem of the family/organisation the story is named after). And that's not my real name, but I never use the real one in fiction because I just don't like it enough.

GIMP is like that. When I first started using it after getting used to PSP and Photoshop style interfaces, it felt all wrong. Course now it's my primary image manipulation program, I keep thinking Photoshop looks weird!

My book's a noir-pastiche-meets-Indiana-Jones in a sort of "Sky Captain"esque ludicrous fantasy world.

Almost certain to be tweaked/scrapped/denied knowledge of ever existing, but I've always thought this photo (taken by my friend) should be put to good use for something. Edited a fair bit by myself in Photoshop.

I know, it's beautiful! I picked it up in an antique shop for 30p or something like that. It has a real 'outsider' atmosphere which is kind of what I was going for.

For my main none nanowrimo project this year, I've been learning to do a lot of artwork. I've found that drawing a character helps with getting the initial description, and helps keep it consistent. I'm a pretty crap artist as it goes, and I've always envisioned one of my books being published with a single colour cover with a black and white lined coloured band going round it.
however, now I've taken the visual aspects of my characters out of my head, I'm wanting to continue that with NaNoWriMo, so I think I'll definately have a go at a proper book cover for this, help give me some a pivotal scene to set in writing.
Of course first I've got to work out just what it is I'm doing...
