Caffeine & Company

Caffeine and Company will be meeting at Cafe Noto on Saturday, October 11th, from 11 o'clock AM to 1 PM.

We will be discussing plot ideas, stubborn characters, future plans, and just getting to know one another. We hope to see you there!

You planned it on a (well, THE) weekend when I'll be home? Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!! I'm so excited. I'm 99.99% sure I'll be there. Ah, I miss Cafe Noto....

Just as an FYI, Denny's has only four "reachable" outlets and the staff is not good about letting you use them. One of the outlets is behind a game machine and you have to pull the machine out of the way to reach the one outlet. Another is on an island with a lot of traffic, etc. If you speak to the manager before you show up, he'll probably welcome you and let the staff know that it's okay. He's not there evenings so someone has to reach him in the mornings to get an okay. They have free internet access but it's "iffy".

This is fantastic information! Thank you very much. We were going to plan a stake out before November to investigate the corners and crannies of Denny's, but this will save us time. So far, Denny's is the best option if we're to pull an all-nighter. It's open 24 hours, has (few) outlets (and we have power strips), it has (crappy) internet, bathrooms, and, most importantly, food and caffeine.

Aw, I missed the first one. Oh well, I couldn't have made it even if I'd known (Mama's birthday). I'll keep an eye on this thread, though, and see if I can't get to the next one.

We'll be having the Forum Room open each Monday in November at the Central Library in Santa Rosa for NANOWRIMO. Wifi/reference librarian if you need one and caffeine will be available. 6 - 8 pm.

Alright, I get out of class around 6:30 and 7 so I should be able to make it for an hour with one of my other WriMo companions. Where is the Santa Rosa Library? Is that the one in front of Coddington? I haven't been there in ages.

The Central Branch is on the corner of E and 3rd Streets. Public parking is across the street on 3rd. Or park on 4th near Barnes and Noble.

Huh, I've never been to that library before. I'll be there, then from 7:00 to 8:00 if the homework load is easy! Can't wait to write! :D

How soon will the next non-library meeting be?

I was the ML last year but I have since moved out of state (Portland, Oregon) so I'm not in the bay area to join you. I am participating in Portland, however.

Oooh, hmm...I think we can do without the internet, but as long as they have outlets and allow us, then I think we're all good.

BY THE WAY, CAFFEINE AND COMPANY WILL BE MEETING AT DENNY'S (The one next to Coddington, I think) ON THE 8TH of NOVEMBER. Mark your calenders! I'm still not sure what time we'll be getting there but I know we'll be trying to stay for as long as we can! It's an all-niter after all!

Hey, I was at San Francisco! I could only write so much at a freakin' convention while I was there xD I'm catching up today, so don't worry. I'm getting back into the swing of NaNoWriMo.

That sounds great. I didn't realize you were doing one this Saturday night when I posted the one for Borders, also this Saturday night. I'll still be at Borders....I'm not really an all-nighter kind of writer these days anyway. But I'd love to attend another of your write-ins at some point. Cramping fingers do love company!

I just went and did a survey at Denny's and it doesn't seem that it would be a comfortable place for us writerly folk. D: Not only is there ONE OUTLET, but the lady didn't seem too stoked to have us there. My mother was joking that we should have it at Safeway instead.

UPDATE:
Denny's seems right out. D: We'll be looking into other places tonight, but, just to be safe...

BACK-UP PLAN:
Go to the Borders Write-In. xD

So the All-Niter thing didn't work out. D: We can't find a 24 hours restaurant around here with outlets that's halfway decent. That doesn't mean that we won't be writing though!

Jeangray and myself will be going to the Borders Write-In tonight from 6pm to 9pm, the Borders near Compusa and Bed Bath and Beyond in Santa Rosa, behind ToysRUs.

Hey, Ethereel -- are you coming to the library write in tonight?

Of course I am, along with my buddy Jeangray! We'll be there to provide background giggles and photographic evidence of the write-in. I'll be there between 6:30 and 7. My watercolor class gets out somewhere in between there.

I'll be wearing a 2004 NaNo T-Shirt and a African-looking hat. :D

So hey, I know I never came to anything 'cause I'm really super lame like that and whatnot, but are there going to be any write-ins this week at all or is everyone pretty much insanely busy? I'm not entirely sure how distracting I'd be but I think I might like to come to at least one, if only to say that I tried it out for once. (:

There's another write-in at Borders, Santa Rosa Cafe on Wednesday night from 6-9. There will be at least three of us there, far as I can tell.
