Many of the places where we hold write ins now were from suggestions of Wrimos like you!
So go ahead - don't be shy - mention the place around you that has the best coffee you've ever had, or has the nice waitress who doesn't mind you sitting there all day. Who knows? Maybe we'll end up having a meeting there!

The Panera in Waterbury. Are you surprised by my suggestion?

I'd like to nominate the Borders in Fairfield (where I work), and the Borders and/or Panera in Milford. All easy, almost right off 95, and seem somewhat centrally located with good [enough] seating.

There's a nice Panera in Shelton, too.

I also would suggest a place in New Haven, since so many of us seem to be from the area, but I honestly don't know of a place with a fairly large seating area. Anyone else?

Like I mentioned in the Intro thread, going to Kimberly Diner again would be fun--I enjoyed it last year, at least.

I've already sent you the info on Los Mariachis in Wallingford. No internet, but it's small and writer-friendly, great homemade Mexican food. I write there about once a week.

I think I mentioned this last year, but there's also a Panera in North Haven; a much more doable location for myself, I don't know about anyone else.

While we're mentioning Panera's, how about the one in Meriden? Right by a Michael's, too, if that means anything.

The big final rule for the comma is one that you won't find in any books by grammarians. It is quite easy to remember, however. The rule is: don't use commas like a stupid person. I mean it.

Unfortunately, Fairfield isn't in New Haven or Middlesex County. That is the area the Shoreline Region is supposed to cover. So we won't be having any events there. Feel free to arrange something on your own though.

For those of us based in Fairfield County (who apparently need a Shoreline West!!), is there a better home base for us? We love hanging with you guys--virtually and personally, but would love to be writing more and driving less--if at all possible!

As a Fairfield Countyer, I have yet to find a region that is "convenient" travel wise, but I've also found the Fairfield Countyers to be lacking in numbers, at least in the amount of numbers worth forming a separate region of its own (Then again I've lurked more than posted on the forums in the past, perhaps others are like that as well). If there was a true CT: West group, I'd gladly join, I just don't see enough others on the forums to put together meet ups.

That said, the Valley group is offering write-ins in New Canaan on Nov 8th, and Danbury on Nov 9th. That's as far south as they're willing to go, and i expect a small turnout to both (But would love to be wrong!) Personally, I'm triple agenting as a member of the CT Shoreline, CT Valley, and NY Manhattan groups (As I work in NY, just live in CT) Sometimes allying to several regions allows for a greater option of meetups.

Unfortunately, you don't have an ML/offiicial region. I had sent out an email in August asking for volunteerts to step up and head the region up (plan meetings, do the forum thing), but there were no takers.
I'll post a thread in this forum for you guys to talk. Perhaps you can all plan your own thing.
