Hi Everyone!
As many of you know, Errol, Ryan and I have been working on creating a CD of original music by Toronto NaNo'ers, for Toronto NaNo'ers, about NaNoWriMo and the creative process/writing in general. We hope that this will encourage and inspire copious amounts of novel writing, and will also act as a fundraiser to help support the events that we have all come to know and love during November.
We've gotten some great tracks so far, but there's plenty of room on the CD for more so we are extending the deadline for song submissions to Tuesday, October 14th! To participate, email your song(s) in high quality MP3 format to nanotorontomusic@gmail.com by October 14th, along with this signed and scanned form, or email us for more details.
Since several people have asked, we'd like to stress that recordings do not have to be of professional quality, so don't let that worry you. As well, you are free (and encouraged) to submit multiple songs.
We've really excited about the CD and are really looking forward to listening to more submissions!

I thought that you'd all like to know that as of 5:30pm today, the CD is now officially in the hands of our printer! Errol, Ryan and I had a very full weekend finishing things off and we are extremely happy and proud of the result! We can't wait to see the final product and share it with all of you :)

It's mostly because I am really enjoying this year's CD and think its a brilliant idea. I listen to it before I start to write each day. hehehe!

It would be remiss of me not to mention: if you're interested in the craft of songwriting, there's a Nano-style event called FAWM (February Album Writing Month) happening at the end of the winter. Greensong got me turned onto it last year and it was a phenomenal experience for me. Something to think about after your novel's done ;o)

And as for the CD, I absolutly love it. My favourite song is Writer's Block. It cracks me up ever time I listen to it <3

We're about to send San Francisco 20 of them for "A Night of Writing Dangerously" - really exciting :D
Morgaa, February Album Writing Month does have a website, here. There's also the longer sister challenge that runs from July 4th to October 1st, 50 Songs in 90 Days. If you'd like to write songs, I definitely advocate joining up - it was what finally got me writing songs. It is an absolutely amazing community - they helped us so much when it came to producing this CD.
