I would be happy to host if anyone was interested... or we could all meet somewhere else if that would work better. We could even do a full-on Halloween party kickoff if folks wanted.

Speak up now if you want to go that direction...

I think I would be able to come. Would it be at your house? Is there maybe a coffee shop we could go to? I don't really know if there are any 24-hour places in Lincoln, as I'm fairly new to the area.

Anyway, off to class!!

I think it should be in a public place, JP.

Come to the Lincoln forum (new today!) and let me know your ideas.

I've used The Mill (both locations) and The Meadowlark in the past. We can sure do that for the kick off.

I started a thread to plan the kick off party and we should have a link to the regional calendar soon.

Betty

That's what I was thinking. I was nervous about someone suggesting their house. I didn't think I'd be cool with going to someone's house.....

Like I said, I don't know Lincoln very well at all, so I don't know of any places to go....

Where is the Mill (either of them) or Meadowlark?

While I wouldn't suggest that people just show up randomly to someone's house from the internet as an individual, the offer was made to the group.

It was an offer not a suggestion or a demand, and was intended merely to facilitate a gathering and offer as many options as possible.

Coffee houses are fine, but they can also sort of suck because you don't have control over what *else* will be going on there when you plan on meeting. We have had several past gatherings borked out of all sanity by some idiot that sat down at the piano and started a private jam session, or someone having a poetry reading or musical performance. We have also had meets at coffee houses that ended up with events of that sort that ended up being standing room only...

While under normal circumstances such things would be fun and enjoyable... when one is trying to have a write-in? Not so much.

I will be fine with whatever folks want to do and wherever folks want to do it... provided that it fits into my schedule.

Well I'd really like to come to a kick off party, but I live in Hastings... it's not too far, I might actually be able to come, I'll just the details soon (and yes preferably not at someone's house).

I'd be interested, if the time and place were right. My schedule is really too full to be writing this year, but, well, you know.

Halloween sounds like it should work, but the public places will be overly public, I fear.

Hi!

Lincoln has its own forum this year. We're planning the party there and I would appreciate your input.

I would like to have the kick off the weekend before Halloween.
