Heading into the last week

Hey everyone! Glad to see all those words getting down this month. We've got a week left to finish it up. Keep it going! Me, I'll be using this last week to write my excuse for not finishing this year. :) Naw, I'll keep writing while I can. You'd be surprised at how many words you can write in a few days when the goal is within reach (if only the extra effort is made.)

I was going to title this post "Worst ML Ever," and while that might be a good title, the fact is, I haven't been around much for NaNo this year. However, I'm glad to see such a thriving community of writers in town, and I'm certain that next year, one of you will step up and encourage me to hit 50K in 2009!

So, keep it going, this is the last push, the finish line is just around the corner (and the certificate really is worth it!)

Anyone else having trouble uploading their novel for word count?

Hey all you people! Is anyone else having trouble uploading their novel for word count? For some reason, it won't let me up load my novel...at all! Any help would be welcomed!

Kick-Off and Write-Ins

The calendar says November 1st is a Saturday this year. Now, I don't remember if we were meeting on Saturdays or Sundays last year, but how about a Saturday, November 1st, Kick-Off-Write-In!

After that, do you prefer Saturday or Sunday afternoons for write-ins? Shall we do 2:00-4:00pm?

I'll get a poster or two up at Chapters in the next week and ask about getting that back room (for shady business) for us--after we determine when we want it.

Woo Yay! We're our own region this year! Maybe it's because the powers that be heard of all our excellence in past years! Anyway, welcome to our own forum.

Many of us know each other (a little but) from past years, but feel free to introduce yourself the the throng. Let me start...

I'm shroomAzoom (but you can call me Darren.) This is my fourth year doing NaNoWriMo and my second as a ML. In 2006 I finished my first NaNo project, a little murder mystery called "Murder in the Mansion." As a child (and a grown-up) I was a fan of all sorts of interactive fiction. You might be familiar with the Choose Your Own Adventure series. In 2006, my novel was a HUGE CYOA. It was a lot of fun for me to write. So, this year, I'm going to do another one.

I've enjoyed the November write-a-thon with friends and co-workers (and some strangers last year too-not that you're strange-wait, I take that back :) ) and I look forward to meeting and writing with some new strangers this year!
