The Cincinnati region's NaNoWriMo calendar has finally been posted. So far, I've only got the kick-off and Saturday write-ins scheduled; there will most likely be more write-ins added, as well as the Thank God It's Over party in December. My lovely and talented co-ML bardiphouka will most likely be hosting a weekly write-in at Highland Coffee House, and some of you have voiced an interest in outlining / brainstorming sessions. As soon as those dates are finalized, they be added to the calendar as well. More details on the scheduled dates will be filled in as we get closer to the starting block.

The calendar will eventually be embedded on the region's page; for now, there's a link on the page above the forum topics. The write-ins are scheduled in several different parts of town, so hopefully most writers will be able to find an event near them.

The fun starts in less than 26 days. Are you ready to write like there's no tomorrow?

Where do we find the calendar? I think I was told last year, but I forgot. LOL.

There's a link on the main page reading "Check your official Cincinnati calendar of events." Eventually the actual calendar will be embedded on the page.

If you'd like the direct link to the calendar, here it is:

IT'S ALMOST TIME AGAIN!!! Nice spread on the locations for the Saturday Meetups by the way. My wife and I should be able to attend at least the one at Front Porch Coffee House, as that's almost in our backyard(and didn't even know it was there!!).

If there are meetups over Highland Coffee House(still one of my favorites!) and if it's on a day that we can be there, you will probably see us at least once or twice. :)

LET'S GET READY TO NANO!!!!

Welcome back, Robert!

There will be Highland nights. Bardi will be picking a weeknight to host there.

Awh... pity. I won't be making any of the write-ins. I work every Saturday. Ah well. Y'all have fun. I'll write what I can at work and be there in spirit!

I'm sure there will be write-ins during the week too. I plan on trying to find someplace to write on maybe Tues nights. I get distracted too easily at home.

I'm hoping to make all of the write-ins, but yeah, I'm going to have to go to some coffee shops and such weekday mornings/lunchtime... if anyone else is free around those times.

There will be some weeknight write-ins added, but will probably be announced with less notice as Bardi finds out his work schedule. There will probably also be a few Sunday write-ins announced at a later date. (My father sometimes needs help covering his courier route, and I didn't want to post a Sunday then cancel because I'm going to be stuck in my car for 8 hours.)

I am one of those weird people with those awful schedules. I have shows Tues-Sunday, at night so any write-ins on Mondays or during the daytime would be great!

Hopefully, I'll be able to make it to at least one write in during the month. I'm super excited about this undertaking and can't wait to start!

Peace,
Jocardo

I know exactly what you mean. I have a VERY loving cat and a VERY loud five month old, along with a fiance who loves to watch tv when he comes home. It's almost impossible to find a quiet spot to write. Even when you do, you remember you forgot to sweep the floor/change the towels/turn on the dishwasher/etc. I can't wait to see everyone this year! This is going to be my first year coming to the write-ins, so should we RSVP or how will we know how many tables to slide together? :)

Let us know where, for sure, because I can definitely do daytime writeins every now and then. It's great to get out of the house.

My 13 year old is at Altiora Coffee with me right now-- come on out! He'd be delighted to know some other younger people are doing this.

I might try to make next Saturday's write-in, though I tend to be horrible at meeting new people. A little face-to-face encouragement from other people doing this will hopefully help.

The Caribu Coffee should be good for me. Can I bring along friends or a parent who aren't writing and try to convince them to?

By all means, feel free to invite friends who might be interested in joining up. (Really, it's still early enough in the month to catch up.) Parents are also welcome; we've got several parents and children writing side by side this year!

I can't make the Saturday Write-Ins, they all happen at the same time as my circus class. I really want to go, I had a lot of fun last year. Have any other dates been decided on?
I'm home schooled so during the day, mornings, whatever works for me. Then again, my parents have to be around so I can get there... How are Fridays for people?(people, this means you!)

Maybe you could attend the virtual write-ins.

Here is the thread for the chat room and virtual write-ins. The chat room is available 24/7 throughout the event, but unless you've made arrangements to meet someone there, you might be the only one there.

The virtual write-ins are every Wednesday night starting at 7:00 pm. It's an opportunity for sharing your progress with others, brainstorming places where you might have hit a brick wall, challenging other wrimos to word wars, general ranting... like an in-person write-in, they're pretty much whatever you'd like them to be.

Just a heads up... the location for the write-in on November 29th has been switched to Altiora in Taylor Mill. It's most likely that the Hyde Park Panera is going to be packed with holiday shoppers in addition to the usual Saturday afternoon crowd. Judging from the turnouts we've had for events so far this month, there's no way on earth they'd be able to accommodate us.

Altiora is in a strip mall, but the neighboring shops are not exactly high volume shopping locations. (Pet hospitals, dry cleaners, and nail salons don't tend to get hectic on Black Friday.) There were plenty of outlets and plenty of tables last week. Most of us that were there agreed it would probably be a better place to hold that last write-in.

The info's been changed on the calendar. Hope this isn't a problem for anyone....
