Don't suppose we've got any members of the Police out there have we? Only I'm still looking at a crime story this year. A follow up to my 2005 story in that it involves the two characters who survived that story, a cop and an ex hooker. No, that's a 'lady of the night' and not a rugby player, but in order to make it accurate, I need info on likely ranks and differing divisions in the police force i.e. who does what?
I'll probably end up going to the enquiries thread, but I also wondered what direction everyone's stories seem likely to take.
By the way, good to see the region seems to have its usual share of nutters, the newbies seem happy to go along with the trend towards insanity that has coloured 'York and Leeds' ever since I first came here. Believe me, to those of you who haven't made it to any of the get togethers, please make a special effort this year - they're well worth it. A lot of laughs, a lot of encouragement, and a lot of ideas. They can also make the difference between success and failure.
Don't suppose there's any chance of getting on TV again this year!!!

I'd heartily recommend reading police blogs, then: they'll help you get in the head of the police better than most stuff other than working with them, I suspect. http://inspectorgadget.wordpress.com/ was good, though I think he's moved to a deskier job of late - check the blog from a year or two back for more literary action footage.
Me... it looks like I might have to skip nano and do programming instead. Which will be fun.
