Hi all,

I will be hosting a weekly write in on Tuesday nights at the Panera on University from 6 until 8:30 (or later if you want to stay). Please email me at wraoeut.er@gmail.com on Tuesdays if you plan to come so I can make sure we have enough room.

Thanks,

Virginia

I didn't know I'd have to pick and choose on meeting places and times - it's kinda great, really. That's one of three places mentioned on this forum not more than 15 minutes from my house, so you might be seeing me there, too.

NietzschesSon,
I will post a thread (and sticky it) where people can post write-in locations. Basically, if you're heading out somewhere to write, or if you know of a cool writing spot, pick a time and place and invite people to join you at the write-in. Fellow Wrimos show up, some writing gets done, usually literary chaos ensues.

Make sure to make it out to at least a few write-ins, especially if they are so close to you. Even if you don't have a laptop (I didn't my first year) - take some good old-fashoined paper and pencil! Write-ins are the best part of NaNo.

Fort Worth is kinda far for me, especially during the week, but I'll try to make it out to a few events over yonder. Hope to see you there!

:) Criss.

Panera sounds great! Will try to make one if possible although it's a bit of a hike for me.

Has anyone mentioned a write-in location in the Grapevine-Keller-Colleyville-Southlake area?

Thanks!

There's a Panera near TCC (near The Devil - oh, sorry, I mean "Wal-Mart"), if I'm not mistaken... more Hurst than Grapevine/Colleyville/Keller/Southlake, but closer than FW!

Hey Virginia!

Was there a specific area you might be meeting up at? The last time I was at the Panera I remember how small it was compared to some other ones I've been to - I just might join up if I can get my work schedule straightened out!

(If not, I'll probably be downtown at the Flying Saucer, so if you feel like wetting your whistle after having some delicious pastry, you can head on over!)

Maurelle.

We usually just show up at Paneara and find an open corner. We can always push tables together if needed.

Virginia -- if you have any more specific plans, let us know. :-)

I am new to Fort Worth. Moved to the downtown area from Houston in March. I haven't been around much to I am learning where everything in the city is and what it is all about.

I'm also new to fort worth and Texas. Don't know where much of anything is and have no such transportation to get there unless a bus goes by there. But I'm gonna try and make it, gotta convince a roomie to give me a ride or something.

Are we going to have a calendar like we did last year? I think we did, anyway?

I'm in North Fort Worth/Keller/Southlake, so I'd love something up here. I know there are several Starbucks up here. Would one of those work?

What was the word on Ol' South? The food the same as ever?

I can't quite put my finger on it, but for some reason I like that place... Good memories of past write-ins? heh. Maybe it's the relaxed vibe.

Not enough Potter for me either, and I think we're in the same area of NE Tarrant County! I'd love to meet up with you at a Starbucks or anywhere else for some writing and mutual support! Most of the planned write-in events are in the evening and I'm really looking for some daytime events. Did you mention being a stay at home mom who volunteers at the school too much? If so, I think we're kindred spirits!

Tina :-)

I'm excited to see other write-ins popping up around Fort Worth. I went last night and bought the candy (and sugar free candy) for the word war prizes!!! I'm getting antsy to get started!!!!

They have a new mural on the wall, which is weird, and it is better lit inside than it used to be (which is odd, let me tell you!), but the food still tasted just as good as ever.

I love that place for write-ins. They are so relaxed there, and good with the refills. The only badness is that there is only that one booth that has a plug, so if you don't have good battery, it's difficult.

I'll have to go just to see the mural and how it appears in new lighting!

Yeah, batteries, that's why I got the neo... so no problems for me now!

We've had a big group -- at least seven every Tuesday -- we'd love to meet some more WriMos if anyone is so inclined to join us at Panera (Tuesdays) or Ol' South (Thursdays). PM me or Backagain for more info! :-)

I hope all the other FW WriMos are doing great with their word counts!!!
